Stop for a Coffee break in Varna – The Bulgarian sea capital and enjoy the cool breeze before continuing driving North.
The first landmark you will visit during the self drive tour to Varna, Kaliakra is the botanical garden in Balchik, which is a piece of heaven on Earth, spread over an area of 1 hectare! The garden is world-famous for its unique collection of large cacti, the second of its kind in Europe after the one in Monaco. The collection of 600 specimens of giant succulents, some of which bloom only once every 100 years, is also impressive. No wonder it appeared as the summer residence of the Romanian Queen Maria.
Relax after an exciting morning at the coast above the bay and the farm in Dalboka mussel restaurant. Enjoy the cultivated ecologically clean Black Sea mussels, famous for their qualities and healthy components. Besides the mussel specialities, the menu includes selected fish, as well as dishes of pork and chicken meat. Here you can enjoy a magnificent view and listen to the whisper of the waves to be absorbed in one incredible atmosphere.
After the lunch, our self drive Bulgarian adventure continues to Cape Kaliakra, a nature reserve, where dolphins and cormorants swim freely and many rare and migratory birds can be seen all year round and one of the most beautiful and historic Capes in Europe. Situated close to the Romanian border, it is known for its stunning panoramic view. The fortress was successively used by Tracians, Romans, Byzantines and Bulgarians and fascinating topic in many legends.
Our self drive audio guided tour finish with a great adventure for those who love challenges. Soar over the waves at up to 80 km/h! Feel the sea breeze, the rush of adrenaline and enjoy the amazing panorama that will be revealed to you.
