Overview
Tour to the second largest Bulgarian city, situated 175 km to the southeast of Sofia. Plovdiv was once a capital city of Philip the 2nd of Macedonia, the father of Alexander the Great. The city is contemporary of Troy, and is much older than Athens and Rome.

After meeting your private tour guide at the lobby of your hotel in Sofia, you will go to the Central Railway Station and take a fast train to Plovdiv ( appr. 2.5 h ).
In Plovdiv, you will have a taxi to the Old town (architecture reserve) in order to explore by walking the main landmarks of the city:
- the national-revival houses complex,
- St. Constantine and Helena Church,
- the Old pharmacy,
- the Ancient Theatre.
You will see Kapana - the artistic neighborhood of Plovdiv, Djumaya Mosque Square, the ruins of the Roman Stadium and Forum, the central pedestrian street - the longest pedestrian street in the world. In the late afternoon, you will return to Sofia by train.
