A useful suggestion for those new to Tenerife. Beside of this day trip the other one highly recommended is Tenerife North Tour to discover the other parts of the island not covered with Tenerife Island Tour.
Booking these 2 tours you are covering whole the island and discover all the main attractions of Tenerife!
The tour operator picks up the bus tour participants along the whole the coast of Tenerife South from our collection points:
There are over 10 various operators of Tenerife bus sightseeing tours, but you can be sure here you are getting the best one. It because the level of organization, so everything is going smoothly. Buses are fresh, clean and air conditioned with comfortable seats, and our tour guides are friendly, professional and they love what they do. During the Tenerife Island Tour, you will sightsee Tenerife which is the tenth tallest island on the globe.
Right after all the Tenerife island tour participant picked up, the tour starts from the coast of South Tenerife. Our first target is Teide National Park. So we will drive all the way up to the altitude of 2370m by the base of volcano Teide. Rising 3718m above the sea level, Mount Teide is the highest peak in Spain and highest point of Atlantic Ocean. On the way to the National Park we will pass through village Escalona and Vilafor - the highest village in whole Spain.
Although this generally depends on the tour guide, usually you will have a short photo stop right after the Vilaflor village to see the oldest and biggest Canary pine tree in Tenerife - Fat Pine.
You need approximately 10 people to hug this 800 year old tree. Later, going through the beautiful scenery of the Canarian pine forest called Corona Forestal or Forestal Crown you are approaching one of the biggest single craters in the world. The forest has a shape of a crown around the island of Tenerife. The caldera or pre-historic crater forms by itself the Teide National Park.
The volcano Teide, also known as Mount Teide, is a volcano on the Tenerife island in the Canary Islands, Spain. It will interest you to know that its top is both Spain's highest point and also the highest point above sea level in the Atlantic Ocean.
If you count the height of Mt Teide from the seabed, its altitude is 7500m, and Teide is the 3rd highest volcanic structure on our planet!
Teide's pre-historic crater called Las Cañadas del Teide and on the Tenerife Island tour you will come across whole the crater known as the Las Cañadas crater. This crater is the remains of an older, eroded, extinct volcano at a height of roughly 2,190 m or 7,190 ft above sea level. This is where the base of Teide inside of caldera is located.
You will enjoy the incredible views inside the caldera on our Tenerife Island Tour, feeling of yourself on the other planet.
Next, we will also have a longer stop by the Rocks of Garcia - a strange rock formation created in the middle of the crater by the pressure of tectonic plates. You will also go through spectacular lunar landscapes, lava flows, and rock formations featured in many Hollywood movies.
The Tenerife Island Tour will also takes us through to the northern side of the crater. At the foot of the volcano, you can also enjoy the impressive landscapes of the Ucanca Valley.
Teide National Park checks off a lot of boxes: it's not only one of Spain's oldest national parks, but it's also one of the most popular.
The national park is not only a geologist's dream but also a dream of a statistician, with so much to explore, ranging from snoozing large volcano and its solidified lava flows to the odd rock formations and alien-like terrain. The park's last major eruption occurred in 1909, and while volcano's peak still occasionally breathing with steam and sulfur, it's far from dead and buried.
No matter where you stay on the island, there are many different companies offering guided tours, transportation (public or private), and gear, making exploration at the National Park easier than ever. Because the South is more popular with tourists thanks to its almost always perfect weather, you'll find a broader range of facilities and operators there, but if you're in the North also, you shouldn't have any trouble.
The best and most reliable Tenerife tour operators have their tours and excursions listed and easily bookable at TripsPoint.
Tenerife is known for its pristine sky (aside from the occasional foggy nights and full moon glare), and there's no better place (in Europe at least) to stare through a telescope to see brilliant stars, planets, and galaxies than the Teide national park. Various tour providers, including certified mountain guides and independent professionals, offer stargazing experiences in the national park. If you're a true stargazer, the Tenerife Observatory could be also worth a visit.
The National Park has routes and trails for all capacities, whether you're looking for a quick stroll, an easy trip, or a more strenuous climb. The environment changes based on height, becoming more arid, less green, and volcanic in nature as you climb higher. Visit the crater at Samara Volcano for a beautiful taste of everything the park has to offer, with a moderate trail via lava flows and views across to neighbouring La Gomera. It's a round trip that will take you between an hour and a half and two hours, depending on your speed. Why not climb Mount Teide on a private tour for a more difficult challenge? The climb is strenuous and takes around six hours, but the sights are well worth it.
Los Roques de Garcia extend from north to south through the National Park's major caldera, around 2,000 meters above sea level but about 1,700 meters below Mount Teide's summit. Roque Cinchado is the most well-known and easily identifiable of the formations, having been eroded into an almost incomprehensible shape and perched on the plain below Mount Teide. Explore and share photos of this almost impossible natural sculpture park on Instagram.
Although there's no possibility on the Tenerife island tour to use the cable car (Teleférico) that takes you from the lower cable car station to the upper station close to the summit, to the altitude of 3550m, it is the most popular activity.
If you don't want to miss the Teide cable car, there are a few options to get there, but you will have to do it on the other day:
Moving on, we will pass through one of the biggest single craters in the world and the old peak of Mount Teide called Pico Viejo where the last eruption took place 5000 years ago, creating the youngest huge black lave field on the Southern part of the crater. Then we will descend through the forests to a small town Santiago del Teide where we may have a shortstop.
After the stop our Tenerife Island Tour takes you through the green Teno Mountains to Icod de Los Vinos.
Here, you will enjoy the authentic architecture of Tenerife island and will visit a thousand years old Dragon Tree (El Drago). Nobody knows exact age of the El Drago, but it 1000 to 5000 years old and these trees were growing on our planet from the times of dinosaurs. El Drago is a must-see natural attraction for each well planned Tenerife sightseeing and among the places not to miss for the best Tenerife tours, full day excursions, Tenerife private tours and other day trips Tenerife has to offer.
Our next place to visit is the first capital of the island, the town of Garachico, which was smashed by lava more than 300 years ago during the last big eruption on the volcano.
You will then be offered a longer an hour stop here so that you can explore old streets, lava pools, and the old fort - Castle of San Miguel which survived the Garachico catastrophe.
While in Garachico you can also have a dinner with a group and Tenerife Island Tour guide, or on your own, in one of many restaurants the town has. Lunch is optional and not included in the island tour price.
After relaxing stop in Garachico, we will continue our Tenerife Island Tour to discover the beautiful Masca road. We will also make a stop in old pirate village Masca and then continue through the Teno Mountains. We will then cross the agricultural area.
You will be thrilled that the Masca road was where the famous Fast & Furious was filmed, We will also observe the amazing views of the Teno Mountains. In the agricultural area, you will be able to enjoy observing the quiet and simple life of farmers.
The last stop of Tenerife Island Tour will be in the old pirate village Masca.
Masca often called a 'Machu Picchu of Tenerife' because of an extremely similar shape and scenery.
Explore the Masca village and enjoy breathtaking landscapes. What piques your interest in Masca? Perhaps you'd prefer to sip hot coffee while enjoying a picturesque views in one of the cafes around. Or maybe get a perfect souvenir from Masca in one of the smaller shops. There are just about 90 people living in Masca now because the Masca village is quite isolated from more populated areas of the island.
Definitely on the list of top Tenerife bus tours!
At the end of the action-packed adventure and discovery at the Tenerife Island, we will then go back to our hotels. Be sure, you will always keep unforgettable memories of this Tenerife Island Tour you've made with us.

Show full review ➤ Our tour guide's English was excellent, and she remained approachable throughout the trip. Her sense of humor added to the experience, and she even recommended some nice restaurants. The driver was equally experienced and ensured our safety throughout the journey. However, one aspect that could enhance the tour is allocating more time for the stunning Masca Valley. The visit there felt quite rushed, with only a 20-minute stop, which hardly allowed us to explore or even grab a quick drink. The drive to Masca Valley was breathtaking but time-consuming, and we wished we could have enjoyed it for a longer duration. Hide review

Show full review ➤ A brilliant day out and some really interesting things to see. The trip up the mountain road was beautiful. We stopped for an hour and a half at El Drago but wasn't really told where we could go. We struggled a bit to find somewhere to eat and ended up in quite a rough area. It was much nicer in Garachico and we would have preferred to stay there for the longer stop and lunch. It would also have been nice to have a swim or at least dip our toes in the water there by the black volcanic rock. It was also a bit frustrating to choose an English tour but it was actually done in 3 languages so a lot of waiting whilst the presentation was done in Spanish and Dutch too. Hide review

Teide is like another planet and driving through Masca just breathtaking, the former capital is a really cute town. Show full review ➤ The tour is simply taking you through the most iconic and picturesque sights of Tenerife. Our guide Alonso was an excellent guide with a lot of patience and good sense of humor. The bus was clean with individually regulated AC working perfectly, all as promised. We had just a few stops including 2 longer at Teide and Garachico, but sightseeing and views on this tour is an unforgettable thing. The only disadvantage is that you have to wear face masks in the bus what’s a bit meaningless, but that’s required by Spanish authorities and the tour provider must follow the rules. Hide review
