The 15-day Private African Tour is a small group tour to Rwanda, Uganda, DR Congo, and Burundi - the tour realized in a small group or exclusively for your family or your private group of friends. The adventure starts in Kigali and to start the tour all that you have to do is book it and book your tickets to Kigali by yourself. We meet you at the airport. Itinerary of the Private African Tour is as is explained below:
Day 1 - Arrival
- Reach at Kigali from where we will take you to the Chez Lando Hotel. Enjoy the leisure time and get ready for the two weeks safari.
Day 2 - Kigali City tour
- Kigali City tour is a part of the Private African Tour and planned after the healthy breakfast. Some places to visit in the city include the Gisozi Genocide Memorial, State house of Rwandan City and debris of the presidential Palace. Moreover, you will also have the chance to see the Presidential Palace Museum. Later in the day pay a visit to the Nyamata, Nyamiromabo women center & Ntarama memorials.
-In the evening, you may go for the Kigali night tour (optional).
- Night stay at the luxury Akagera Chez Lando Hotel.

Day 3 - Game drive - Akagera National Park
- After breakfast, transfer to Akagera National Park and enjoy an afternoon game drive viewing Lions, Rhinos, Antelope, Giraffes.
- Dining will be at the Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 4 - Game drive-boat ride - Akagera National Park
- After breakfast, proceed with a half-day game drive in the morning then enjoy a boat trip to Lake Shakani in the afternoon.
- Overnight at Akagera game Lodge.
- Meals plan: B/L/D
Day 5 - Drive to Bwindi National Park (Uganda)
- After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi National Park, driving through green hills.
- Stay for the night at the Bakiga Lodge.
Day 6 - Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park
- We will leave for Bwindi National Park headquarters after breakfast. The group of gorillas will be visited and this is one of the most exciting experiences of our African Tour.
- Gorilla trekking will get you through the Bwindi Mountain Forest and it might take one to four hours. We will spend at least one hour with gorillas.
- Now for a while, we would do some trekking and made a community visit. The performance of various singers, dancers and craftsmen is worth watching.
- The night stay is arranged at the Bakiga Lodge in spacious rooms.
Day 7 - Drive to Gisenyi - Lake Kivu - City Tour
-Go to the Gisenyi for night stay which is expected to be at the Paradise Malahide Hotel.
- Boat ride on Lake Gisenyi offering a nice view of landscapes, and villages of Goma (DR Congo) and Rwanda.
- Dinning and overnight stay by us.
Day 8 - Nyiragongo trekking - Ascending
- Our first stopover after the breakfast on this day of our Private African Tour is at the La Grande Barriere ( Rwanda-DRC border). Cross the border by 07:00 AM and then check-in at the Virunga Tourism Office at about 08:00 AM.
- Reach Kitabi Ranger Post which is considered as the starting point for trekking to Nyiragongo trek. Climbing will start at 10:00 AM and we will complete the summit by 05:00 P.M.
- Overnight stay will be at the crater. The meal will be served.
Day 9 - Nyiragongo trekking - Descending
- Finish your break a little early and then start going down the slope from Nyiragongo at around 6:00 AM.
- Reach the La Grande Barriere and then return to Rwanda by crossing the border.
- Visit Musanze Caves, and the trip continues to Kigali for overnight at Chez Lando Hotel.
Day 10 - Historical & Cultural visit
- Go to the Nyanza King’s Palace after breakfast which is located at a distance of 88 Km south of Kigali city. The palace was traditionally built by the King Mutara III Rudahigwa. You will have a detailed understanding of the Rwandan culture by visiting this palace. No doubt, the museum is impressive of its own kind and reminds us of the remains of the 19th century. Afterward, we will see the Butare Ethnographic Museum which is named the National Museum of Rwanda.
- The night stay will be at the Matter Boni Consigli Hotel.
- Meals plan: B/L/D
Day 11 - Birding and Waterfall Hike
- After breakfast at 9:00 AM, hike up to the tropical waterfalls offering a photogenic and wonderful view of the park.
- After, visit the tea plantations before returning to the hotel. - Have the rest of the day at leisure, including time for a nature walk.
- Night stay and dining at the Top hill view Hotel.
- Meals plan: B/L/D
Day 12 - Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy adventure
- Wake up very early and report to Cyamudongo starting point by 5:00 AM to start the chimpanzee tracking; the time to spend with the Chimps is strictly limited to 1 hour, then spend the rest of the morning at leisure.
- Night stay and boarding at the Top hill view Hotel.
Day 13 - Transfer to Bujumbura
- We will arrive at Bujumbura at about 12:00 P.M. You will visit the following places which are: Islam Culture Center, Albert’s Crocodiles, Explorers Memorial, Unity Monument, Belvedere Hill, Lake Tanganyika. Tour to Tanganyika is full of excitement and adventure. Relax for a while at the beach and then leave for night stay at the Safari Hotel Lodge.
Day 14 - Full day tour: Source of Nile, Karera Waterfalls
- Today’s visiting spots include Gishora National Museum-full of history, Karera Waterfalls, Gitega National Museum, etc. Later in the day, we will return to Bujumbura.
- Night stay and dining will be at the Safari Gate Hotel.
Day 15 - Flight from Bujumbura
- Go to the Rusizi National Park after breakfast and then shortly visit the hippos and birds in the Tanganyika Lake before finally leaving for the Airport.
- Meals plan: B/L
- End of the Private African Tour.
