Next, venture into Volcanoes National Park, home to the majestic mountain gorillas. Itinerary
Day 1: Your recommended flight lands in Kigali. We will be there to greet you and drive you the short distance to your hotel in the capital, where you will spend two nights. We don’t include dinner as you will have just been fed in the air, but you’re welcome to head for a late bite. We can recommend plenty of options, from Thai to Ethiopian, Italian to Japanese.
Day 2: A day in the capital. Rwanda is known to many western travelers for the 1994 genocide that claimed the lives of almost 1 in 10 Rwandans. A visit to Kigali’s Genocide Memorial Museum is a heart-wrenching experience, but one that is a must for first-time visitors to the country. In the afternoon we’ll visit Nyamirambo, Kigali’s Muslim quarter and one of Rwanda’s most exciting townships. In the evening we will have drinks at a local restaurant.
Day 3: Akagera National Park outing with Ultimate Rwanda Travels. After your breakfast, we will have a transfer to Akagera National Park. The relatively warm and low-lying plains of Akagera comprise savannah, woodland, wetland and a dozen lakes and is home to the BIG 5. After check in at Ruzizi Tented Lodge, we will go for scenic view of the wildelife and hot air ballon excurion. You will be rewarded with a luxury picnic lunch on our tables set in the bush while admiring the sceneries, you will be translated for afternoon game drive as you return to your overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge
Day 4: Today's game drive lead you to the Lake Ihema and pristine parts of Akagera National Park for big five wildelife viewing and photograph. You will have a boat ride to see animals taht are not found on the main land. Your drive ends at Ruzizi Tented Lodge where you are spending a night.
Day 5: drive to Volcanoes.
Volcanoes National Park is a national park in northwestern Rwanda. It covers 160 km² of rainforest and encompasses five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains, namely Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo.
Day 6: Early morning breakfast and drive to the Volcanoes National Park offices. Check in and get assigned to your group. Afterwards, you will drive to the trekking site and hike to in the forest for the search of those beautiful Gorillas. After spotting them, you will be allowed to stay with them for one hour. Afterwards, drive back to your Hotel for lunch and relax. Afternoon, make a visit to the Gorilla Guardians Village for Cultural Experience.
Day 7: On this day, you will go for Golden Monkeys trekking in the Volcanoes National Park. Starting your day with breakfast and drive to the park's office for check in. Get assigned to your group and drive to the trekking site & go to enjoy the view of the Golden Monkeys. After the trek, you will be transfered to the Lake Kivu by private 4*4 vehicle. You will go for sunset kayakking on the lake before going for dinner.
Day 8: Get up in the morning and have your breakfast. Afterwards, drive to Nyungwe National Park and do Canopy Walk. Afterwards, go and make a visit at the Tea Factory and visit tea farms. Discover the land of thousand hills in greater depth with a visit to the Nyungwe National Park. Nyungwe Forest is one of the oldest rainforest in Africa and the best preserved rainforest in the mountains of Central Africa which is rich in biodiversity. Nyungwe Forest has 13 different primate species, such as the colobus monkey, l’Hoest’s monkeys, chimpanzee, over 300 bird species and over 75 different types of mammal
Day 9: Morning breakfast and drive to the Park's office for check in and pick your guide. You will spend one hour with Chimpanzees in the forest and enjoy a view of those creatures that have 98% DNA similar to that of Human being. After the trek you will return to your hotel and enjoy scenic view and drinks by the pool overlooking Nyungwe Forest
Day 10: Today is the final day outside the city, we will start with the topical waterfalls hike, this is a short moderate hike inside the forest. After lunch, your driver will pick you up from the hotel and transfer to Kigali.
Day 11: Thank you and goodbye, Your driver will meet you at the hotel and drive to the airport to catch your flight back home.
