At the railway station in Voss we find the bus that takes us to Gudvangen and in the summer months the bus runs through Stalheimskleiva, the 1.5 km long road section that winds down Nærøydalen from Stalheim. Well ahead in Gudvangen, at the bottom of the Nærøyfjord, we board the electric ship "Future of the fjord" to Flåm.
The Nærøyfjord is one of the narrowest fjords in Europe and the trip to Flåm takes about 2 hours. The boat is battery operated, high comfort, large windows and good patio. Flåm is a charming village surrounded by precipitous mountainsides, rumbling waterfalls and narrow valleys. Here it is beautiful to just wander around, or visit the Flåm Railway Museum. In Flåm, the trip continues with the Flåm Railway which is one of the world's steepest railway tracks on normal tracks.
The 20 km long train journey is a fantastic journey and gives you a panoramic view of some of the wildest and most magnificent of Norwegian mountain nature, including the famous Kjosfossen waterfall.
