Itinerary
We will start from Marrakech before 8:00 am, in order to drive to Ouarzazate, also known as “Gateway to the Sahara”, a former caravan town on the silk and salt route in the eastern foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Then we will pass through the Berber town of Taddert and over the 2260 meters high Tizi n’Tichka pass.
After passing through Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, we will stop at the famous Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. The Kasbah has one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Thousand Kasbahs and is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1987. We will have our lunch at the Kasbah and continue on our way to Dadés Gorge via Ouarzazate- “The Hollywood of Africa”.
On our way through the “road to the Thousand Kasbahs” & the fascinating “sand castles”, we will stop at Kalaat M’gouna, “the rose city” known for its roses and annual rose festival during the month of May. Then we will continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dadés Gorges, and enjoy a traditional Moroccan evening meal and next morning breakfast.
After morning breakfast, we will explore the sites around Dadés Valley and Todra Gorges. Lunch will be taken at any of the cafés on our way. Merzouga will be the final destination of day 2. From there, camels will take us to our Berber desert camp via the Dunes of Erg Chebbi. Our stay will be at the desert camp that includes accommodation, evening meal & next day morning breakfast in traditional Berber tent.
On day 3, camels will take us for the return trip back to Merzouga. Then, we will enjoy our journey back through the Draa Valley to Ouarzazate over the Atlas Mountains. We will arrive back in Marrakech around 19:00hrs or 20:00hrs.

Show full review ➤ Abderrahmane proved to be an outstanding guide, attentive to the group's needs and always mindful of the program requirements. The tour provided valuable insights into the local culture. However, the true highlight was the night spent in the desert, in an unforgettable setting, and the camel ride in the silence of the rising sun. The camp was well-organized and provided comfortable accommodations. Hide review

We had a fantastic group of about fifteen people (French, English, Italian, Chinese, Canadian...) with whom we had a great laugh. The guide, Yassin, was brilliant and an integral part of the group. The journey was long but comfortable, with well-timed stops. The car had great music that set the mood. The hotel on the first night was wow. We didn't expect something so luxurious! As for the night in the desert, I would have preferred something a bit more authentic (the camp had Wi-Fi, hot showers, individual tents, and a restaurant), so it was comfortable but maybe a bit too much. The evening around the fire in the desert didn't resonate with me... the atmosphere was a bit too forced, with a lot of people and very noisy. However, the desert is beautiful, especially when the wind picked up in the last few days and shaped the dunes. Luckily, that was the case for us. Another highlight was our guide "Good Vibe" for visiting the Tudra Valley gorges. Incredible, funny, touching, friendly, and authentic. In short, an unforgettable encounter. So, I highly recommend this getaway because everything runs smoothly, it's well-organized, very comfortable, and the desert is truly stunning. However, if you're looking for something authentic and a bit more rustic in terms of adventure, it might not be the ideal choice. Hide review
