3Days 2Nights Kuching , Sarawak

Day 1.

Flight not included, recommended arrival before 1200hrs. Arrival greeting at Kuching International Airport.

First Tour - Semenggoh Orangutan Center

Proceed for a 20 minutes’ drive to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. The Centre is the biggest Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak that established in 1975 as a sanctuary for the injured and orphaned Orang Utans. These animals are trained or re-trained to survive in their natural habitat. They learn how to forage for natural food and build nests in the trees. However there are few that will never re-learn their wild skills due to their long association with and resulting dependence on humans. Take a walk on the trails and try to spot semi-wild Orang Utans. There are feeding times scheduled every day at the feeding platform. However always bear in mind that the main aim of the Centre is to return these animals back into their habitat. Do not be disappointed if you do not see any roaming the jungles or coming back to feed as this means they are able to forage on their own and do not need human assistance.

Day 2.

Silabur & Siturip Cave Adventure

Meet at the hotel lobby and depart from Kuching city to Lobang Batu (~1.5 hr. drive) with briefing at the village community center). Here you will be provided with the necessary caving gear as well, such as helmet and basic refreshment. After the equipment and safety briefings are completed, we trek 45 minutes through some of the area’s prettiest farmland to the cave entrance. Then we go deep into the cave. Ceilings in this cave are up to 35 metres high and there are enormous calcite structures to admire as well as a range of cave dwellers. The route takes us 1 km inside the mountain, passing through many chambers, before we retrace our steps. A packed lunch will be provided. 500 meters round the mountain we enter a second cave through a river. Whilst swimming is not required a dryer route is available for the less intrepid. Less than 200 meters into this cave you will find a small but beautiful chamber. From here we return to the entrance. Having changed in the village community center, we will depart and return to your city hotel.

Day 3.

Sarawak Cultural Village

Proceed for a 30 minutes’ drive to Sarawak Cultural Village. ‘See Sarawak in Half a Day’ is claim made by Sarawak Cultural Village, an unique award-winning living museum offering an excellent introduction to local cultures and lifestyles with the 48,000 square miles of Malaysia's most majestic State are condensed into just 17 acres. One leisurely stroll opens seven homes to the visitor, seven cultures, including the famous longhouses of Borneo. It’s popularly known as SCV, the Village is a “living museum” showcasing the seven major ethnic races of Sarawak; Iban, Bidayuh, Penan, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Malay and Chinese. Each ‘house’ is an exact replica of traditional dwellings down to the type of wood, landscaping and carvings with the various communities. Each building has a “storyteller” who is expert in describing and interpreting traditional cultures and lifestyles. They will happily pose with you for photos. There are daily multi-cultural dance performance in the village’s own theatre.
