3 Days 2 Nights Kuching , Sarawak

Day 1 .

This walkabout tour commences at the Kuching waterfront, with a visit to the “Tua Tek Kong” Chinese temple and Chinese Historical Museum where the historical Fort Margherita can be viewed on the other side of the Sarawak River. From the temple you will walk through Carpenter Street, consisting of old shop houses on both sides of the narrow street passage. At the end of the street junction you pass by the General post office. Also situated around this area are historical buildings and monuments built during the era of the Brooke dynasty which consists of the Round Tower, the Pavilion, the Brooke Memorial Monument, the Square Tower and the Old Court House.

Day 2.

This cruise passes mangrove swamps and the picturesque Santubong fishing villages on the way to the South China Sea.

After a short cruise through the open sea, we arrive at Satang Island, one of the three islands set aside by the Sarawak government for turtle conservation. Visit the turtle conservation and hatchery. Enjoy the beautiful white sand beach and snorkel amongst the wide variety of soft corals and colorful marine life. A packed lunch included.

Day 3.

Proceed for a 20 minutes’ drive to Semenggoh Wildlife Centre. The Centre is the biggest Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak that established in 1975 as a sanctuary for the injured and orphaned Orang Utans. These animals are trained or re-trained to survive in their natural habitat. They learn how to forage for natural food and build nests in the trees. However there are few that will never re-learn their wild skills due to their long association with and resulting dependence on humans. Take a walk on the trails and try to spot semi-wild Orang Utans. There are feeding times scheduled every day at the feeding platform. However always bear in mind that the main aim of the Centre is to return these animals back into their habitat. Do not be disappointed if you do not see any roaming the jungles or coming back to feed as this means they are able to forage on their own and do not need human assistance.

Note: Insect repellent, umbrella and hat or cap is required during the trip.
