In 1861, the King of Madagascar Radama II appealed to Napoleon III to send marine carpenters to teach the Malagasy population boat manufacturing techniques. Joachim and his 3 sons were elected to accomplish this mission and they settled in Belo sur mer. As a result, the history of Belo sur mer begins. Belo sur mer is located a few hundred kilometers south of Morondava, a village belonging to the Vezo community.
You can discovering their culture by visiting traditional fishing villages, learning to sail a dhow or tasting the local seafood. Belo sur Mer is also known for its marine park, which is home to a wide variety of fish and other marine species, Andravoho is an Island 1hours by boat from Belo sur mer, beatifull transparent turquoise sea ,surrounding by corals reefs and the best for snorkeling or diving.
Many site to explore around belo, among of them the saline or salt farm, which made by local peole during high tide in the full moon,it worth to visited while you're there.
Vezo is a name tribes of Malagasy people living in Belo sur mer, it is a wonderful fisherman village.

D1: Morondava - Belo sur mer
7:30am, Pick up hotel, and cruise via motorized baot through mozambic canal
duration, 2hr30. On the way we' ll meet fishermen fishing,the boat transporting salt and cargaison from Belo sur mer, and enjoy the fresh winds.
10am, settling hotel, then walking to the tomb of joachim, the first white man who taught the vezo the technic manufacturing boat- visit the vezo making boat .
12pm, lunch time at chez Dede , enjoy the traditional restaurent
in the after noon, relaxing time the beach.
D2: visit kirindy mite national parc
8am, direction to the south via boat, to see the giant bats, and hike on famous dune de Mite to get view for the mozambic canl and other side the baobab forest with lake of flamingos birds. Visit 2hrs.
D3: Belo sur mer - Morondava
8am, Leaving belo and direction to Andravoho Island
snorkeling at national marine parc, swim, and lunch picnic will be serve there, barbecued sea food.
2:30pm, cruise back to Morondava
