Hot air balloon ride

Glide silently in a balloon over the Valley of the Kings and ancient temples on the West Bank of Luxor

Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel or cruise ship and then taken by boat to the opposite side of the Nile from Luxor while you enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

When you arrive at the launch site, you will experience the hot air being blown into the balloons until they are ready to take off. The gas burners make the balloons shine like huge, colorful lamps.

From the basket under the balloon you will then enjoy a bird's eye view of ancient monuments such as the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the Ramesseum or the Memnon Colossi of Thebes for about an hour.

Viewing the sunrise from this height is a very special experience.

Since a hot air balloon is driven by the wind, the route traveled may vary and the time of the journey may be longer or shorter depending on the weather.

Carrying large cameras while driving is not permitted for safety reasons.

The driver of your transfer is trustworthy and will keep your camera safe for you until you land.

After landing, you will be taken back to your ship or hotel in air-conditioned vehicles.

Important excursion tips:

• Clothing that covers shoulders and legs to protect against the intense sun, even in winter
• Hat, sunscreen
• Money in local currency for tips
• Water to drink because even in winter it is quite warm and dry here
