Overview
In 8 days, you will experience all the magnitude of the Sustainable Development Reserve (SDR) of Rio Negro, and interact with the local culture in the community Nossa Senhora de Perpétuo Socorro, located in the Acajatuba Lake on the banks of the Rio Negro.

This expedition is an invitation to a deep dive in nature. You will watch the sunrise from canoes, interact with pink river dolphins, hike through the forest, observe the Amazon sky from the river and swim in the largest fresh water basin in the world.
From a cultural perspective, you will learn about the cultivation of manioc and the process of making flour and tucupi. You will taste real açai, straight from the palm tree and learn to dance carimbó. Taste the Amazonian sweet flavours and participate in the workshop of handicrafts made with local seeds and cosmetics from the forest.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Our arrival day in Manaus! You can arrive at any time and, from 2pm on, check-in at the hotel is available. The day is open for you to explore the capital of Amazonas, which has many interesting attractions such as the Museum of the Amazon, the Teatro Amazonas and the meeting of the waters, as well as restaurants and local markets offering delicious dishes!
Day 2 - After breakfast, we'll make our way to the Acajatuba Lake region, first by van, then in canoes. Upon arrival at the community we will be welcomed with a delicious regional lunch. After lunch we will go over important information before enjoying the end of the afternoon with a sunset on the Seu Shell float bar.
Day 3 - During the morning, we will go on a hike in the forest, where we will learn about the Amazon flora and fauna and take lessons on the art of jungle survival. After lunch, we will go to a natural cosmetics workshop with Amazonian ingredients and as night falls, we will head out with the canoes for an observation of the Amazon sky.
Day 4 - We will rise early and be off to see the sunrise in the middle of the Rio Negro, with the canoes. Still in the morning, we will interact with river dolphins. After lunch, we will have a handicraft workshop and visit a Turtles conservation programme. In the evening, prepare your swing to learn and dance carimbó!
Day 5 - We set off on the Ariaú river tour and with a bit of luck we will see many animals on the way. After lunch we will visit the Casa de Farinha to learn about the production process of the authentic tapioca.
Day 6 - Our sixth day of the Expedition begins with a visit to the Flor do Taxi Meliponary. We will have lunch and for dessert, we will delight ourselves with Amazonian delicacies. The afternoon and evening will be at your leisure.
Day 7 - The last workshop of the trip will be about Açaí, a typical fruit from the Amazon. Afterwards, we'll take a delicious caboclo canoe cruise on the river.
Day 8 - We will have a short closing session over breakfast before departing back to Manaus. Arrival is scheduled for midday at the airport - travellers should book their return flights for departure from 2pm.
