Highlights
Description
Start the day with a leisurely hotel pick up around 8.30am. Our adventure begins with a drive up the winding roads to the majestic Mt. Wellington/Kunanyi. From there, you will enjoy breathtaking views overlooking Southeast Tasmania, Tasman Peninsula and Bruny Island. After our visit to the mountain, we head down into the stunning Huon Valley, once known as the heart of the Apple Isle, now known as the home of some of Tassie's best cider producers. Our first venue is Willie Smith Cider Shed and Museum. Here, you'll get to taste a range of crisp apple ciders paired with their delicious apple pie. You'll learn about the process of cider making and hear captivating stories of Tasmania's apple heritage. Next is a trip to The Honey Pot, here you can browse their beautiful range of products and sample raw natural honey varieties, including Leatherwood, Manuka, Prickly Box, and Bush Honey. New to this tour we visit the Kiln in Ranelagh, a heritage listed Oast House and grounds. At the Kiln you will try unique gins by deQuetville Distillery. For lunch, we head to Pagan Cider, nestled in the beautiful town of Cygnet, to sample ciders in an intimate tasting room, including ciders not available anywhere else on Earth. The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of gourmet baguettes derived of fresh, local produce. On our return journey, we will travel along the D’Entrecasteaux Channel to Grandvewe Cheese, where we can sample sheep whey gins, vodkas, and cheese with a fantastic ocean view and rolling hills. We will then travel through the town of Kettering and arrive back in Hobart around 4pm.
