El Puertito is a small fishing village on the coast below Adeje, in the southwest of the Islands by a small black volcanic sand beach between the cliffs. Enfolded between Playa de San Juan and Playa de las Americas, El Puertito offers a scenic picture to soothe one’s eyes. It is a perfect Canarian type village. Despite this fact that tourism in Tenerife is thriving but still major apartment complexes and hotels have bypassed this place. El Puertito remained an old-fashioned village. There is a statue of the Virgin Mary and a small church which is another beautiful besides the village beach. For ice cream and wine, there is only one Pepe y Lola restaurant.
If you are tired of crowded places then a beautiful beach of El Puertito and relaxing environment makes it a perfect spot for a short stay. Sometime during Spanish Holidays, you might find the beach flooded with Spanish tourists yearning to get the sunbath. This romantic bay, an oasis of calm waters and boats present a different but unique picture of Tenerife. Roaming up towards cliffs, you might find the historical cave dwellings. The view of the rough waves down from the cliff tops is amazing. El Puertito can be easily accessed by car. Fishing is the only main industry of the people of this place. It is a beautiful place for those seeking for calm.
