Garachico town is home to a wonderful castle called Castillo de San Miguel. Castillo de San Miguel is more fort than a castle despite its name. The for was built in 1575 to protect the main trade harbor of Tenerife from pirates and English warships that often tried to attack Garachico which was the capital of Tenerife that times.

Building of Castle has parts which are capped with fortifications of pyramid shape in neoclassical pattern. It is important to mention that this castle was named as a monument as Bien de Interes Cultural in 1993. The overall building presents beautiful stone artefacts, rested anchors and cannons.
