MA DA JUNGLE ADVENTURE

We will arrange to meet at a central location and leave Saigon at 6:00AM. Departing Saigon, we will begin our 2-hour transfer to the peace and tranquility of the Ma Da Jungle, stopping for a quick but filling breakfast along the way to recharge the energies needed to take on this unique and ambitious challenge.

Upon arriving at the start of the cycling portion of the Adventure, we will find the bicycles ready to ride. After a quick A-B-C (Air, Brakes and Chain) inspection of our expertly-mantined bikes, we will depart to begin our adventure ride together. Our cycling group will be supported by an expert tour guide, park ranger and mechanic for this adventure

The first segment of the ride is the least technically challenging, with the exception of a 75-meter descent along a dual-track over the distance of less than a kilometer. This serves as a good warm-up for the challenges to come over the course of the day. In this first segment, we will cycle from alongside Tri An Lake, our point of departure and follow the river to the north. After about 15km to warm the legs, we will experience our first muddy challenge - a 45m technical ascent from the river basin to our first jungle peak of the day. From here, we will descend into our first water stop of the day’s ride where healthy and delicious fruit snacks and ice-cold water await.

On the second segment, we start to explore deeper into the Ma Da Jungle. This is a great opportunity to collect some “honest mud” that the streets and highways of Saigon cannot provide. Rolling hills and grinding ascents meet us as we trek through the middle of the national park. Escorted by our Park Ranger guides, on this segment we will wind through the park trail system and will find our way to the highest elevation of the day’s adventure. Depending on time and the pace of the riding group, we will either plan our next nutrition stop at this peak, or after the rolling descents that follow in the next 5km.

After our second nutrition and water refreshment, we will continue easterly over both dual-track and gravel and dirt trails with rolling descents to our final nutrition stop. Surrounded by nature, with respect for the environment and a love for the empowerment that cycling provides, we will have an opportunity to experience the peace and tranquility of solitude - something that is difficult to find in Saigon.

The final segment to our peninsula destination is on a wide and rolling gravel and dirt track in a southerly direction back to the Tri An Lake where we will celebrate a wonderful adventure with a hearty meal and an opportunity to dip our toes in the waters of the Lake.

Having dined and relaxed by Tri An Lake, we will begin our return home to the hectic chaos of Saigon. Estimated arrival time in HCMC is 17:00
