Overview
Unlike popular visits to temples, a pilgrimage excursion to the Perfume Pagoda is a combination of religious pilgrimage, slow boat trip between poetic mountains and streams, and light climbing exercises. Enjoy the spectacular landscape and learn more about typical Vietnamese religion
Highlights
Description
In the morning (exact time will be advised upon reconfirmation), you will be picked-up at your hotel and then on a comfortable A/C bus, heading West of Hanoi for about 70km. Arrive at the Perfume Pagoda and take a walk to Yen Wharf to board a local boat. The boat journeys down a narrow flowing stream fringed by rice fields, temples and grass and you will have the option to stop and visit some of these temples before heading to Huong Tich cave. Then, you may trek up (or take cable car to the mountain) to Perfume Pagoda at the top of the mountain, enjoy the spectacular landscape and learn more about typical Vietnamese Buddhist religion.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Continue our journey to visit Thien Tru Pagoda, which was built in the 18th century under King Le Thanh Tong dynasty. Thien Tru means a heaven kitchen, derived from the imagination of the locals in this region, of which the rock formations in this area look like chefs busily working in the kitchen. The whole trip may take 08 hours until coming back to your hotel in Hanoi. February, March and June are to avoid for as this is bustling festive time, or for the heat of summer.
