Highlights
Description
Let me show you around my neighborhood where I've lived since 1997. The realms of film and fiction blur in Manhattan's historic Carnegie Hill where J. D. Salinger's former home sits near Truman Capote's old apartment. We'll see Madeline Kahn's former apartment, just a block away from the penthouse apartment that her pal Marlene Dietrich kept for more than three decades. We'll see filming sites from such movies as Marathon Man, Melinda and Melinda, Ransom, Wall Street, The International, Ghost Town, and When Harry Met Sally. Featured are the famous 5th Avenue mansions of Otto Kahn, Felix M. Warburg, and Andrew Carnegie, and Frank Lloyd Wright's swan song masterpiece, The Guggenheim Museum. We'll visit the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir inside Manhattan's Central Park, and get a peek inside the lovely Church of Heavenly Rest cathedral where Keanu Reeves runs to rescue Charlize Theron in "The Devil's Advocate. " This casual two-hour (1. 5 mile) walking tour is available daily at 3:00 p. m.
