Suggested departure time between 8am and 9am from your preferred pick up location in Edinburgh, 40 minutes later arrive at Linlithgow Palace. Tour the Palace and grounds for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Travel time to Stirling Castle/Stirling Bridge 30 minutes. Spend 1 to 2 hours exploring both. Refreshment break at the Legends Café before visiting the Wallace Monument ( 45 minutes or so } A 20 minute drive to Doune Castle ( featured in many films and series including Monty Python and the Holy Grail , Outlander and Game of Thrones ). For whisky lovers a detour to nearby Deanston Distillery then lunch in the lovely town of Callander or the Steamship Café at Loch Katrine or various cafes/restaurants in or near to the village of Aberfoyle. Exploring this beautiful rural countryside in a lazy relaxed fashion will take you through to late afternoon/early evening to return you to your preferred hotel/accommodation in plenty of time for your evening meal.
