Itinerary
Itinerary of the Cycling Tour Uganda:
DAY 1: TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
Our drivers will pick you up early in the morning and take you to Lake Mburo, one of Uganda’s smallest National Parks. During the 4-hour drive, you will slowly see the environment changing from a busy urban area into a green and peaceful setting. On our way, you will pass the equator. There’s ample time for some pictures and a coffee and snack. You will reach your accommodation around lunchtime, which you can enjoy from a terrace with a magnificent view over the park. After lunch, we will do a 20-40km ride on the borders of the park. Plenty of chances to spot wildlife like zebra’s, Ugandan kob, water bocks, or a warthog. The loop will end at the accommodation where you will have diner under the stars. Sleep with the sound of roaring hippos in the background.
Elevation 200 – 600m
Distance 20 – 40km
Accommodation Budget: Leopard Rest Lodge
Mid-Range: Rwakobo Rock
Luxury: Lake Mburo Safari Lodge
DAY 2: CYCLING TRIP IN LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
On the second day, we will start cycling pretty early to be able to see as much wildlife as possible. Did you know that Lake Mburo also houses a family of giraffes? A group of 16 species was released in 2016 to help to get the fauna of the park back to its original state. Maybe you will spot one of these majestic animals. Today’s ride will be 20-40km and tailored made to your experience and fitness level. We can enjoy our packed lunch during the ride or make sure to be back at the camp around lunchtime.
There is time to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature before we head back to Kampala.

3. Your safety
Your safety is our primary concern. Most visits to Uganda are trouble-free. However, both countries have a history of political instability and, in some areas, that instability is ongoing. We are aware that from time to time some governments advise against non-essential travel to some parts of Uganda. Therefore, we advise you to check the latest travel advice issued by the government in your home country before booking your trip. We are happy to answer any queries you may have. For many of our visitors, the opportunity to come into close contact with a diverse range of wildlife is one of their main reasons for visiting Uganda. Attacks by wild animals are rare but we cannot guarantee that they will not occur.
4. Our liability
We accept no liability to you, in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, for any indirect or consequential losses suffered by you or any member of your group arising out of or in connection with your booking with us. Our total liability to you and each member of your group will in no circumstances exceed, in aggregate, the total amount paid by you to us in connection with your booking (excluding the cost of any gorilla or other wildlife permits). We will have no liability whatsoever to any third parties. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits our liability for death or personal injury (when caused by our negligence), fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
5. Documents on the Cycling Tour Uganda
You and the other members of your group are responsible for ensuring that you have all appropriate documentation (e.g. valid passport, visa, health certificates) for your trip to Uganda and/or Rwanda. You and the other members of your group are also responsible for arranging appropriate travel and/or health insurance. You must carry proof of insurance with you. We strongly advise you to obtain adequate insurance to cover all activities you may participate in and possible risks you may encounter during your trip. Specialist insurance may be required for certain activities (e.g. white-water rafting, mountain climbing) and you can consider it optionally for the Cycling Tour Uganda.
