From the vibrant Uganda capital through into the alive rain forest where the human cousins play and thrive, we visit the famous chimpanzee in Kibale. We take you higher, 2500 meters above sea level to meet the gentle giants of the mountain rain forests of Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park — the part where you’ll need to carry all your adventure juices to take back a bucket-load of memories. Seeing the mountain gorillas has been listed as one of life’s greatest adventure by celebrated travellers like David Attenborough and Dian Fossey who pioneered this adventure.
We’ll hit the savannah wild, checking out the nocturnal wildlife drama in the small Lake Mburo N.Park the extending our savannah adventure up the Nile River where we’ll checkout the Africa Big Five game animals in Murchison Falls and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. We have the boat safari that will introduce you to the wildlife drama along the Albert Nile and a hike up the thundering Murchison Falls.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your Ultimate Africa Adventure professional guide who’ll transfer you to your hotel in Kampala for check in. Depending on your time of arrival, you may be given some refreshments and left to acclimatize. There is an option of going for a city tour in Kampala or staying behind to relax while recovering jetlag. Briefing about your safari is also done today.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest N.Park and Bigodi nature walk
We will depart from Kampala at about 8:00am and head west via Fort Portal to Kibale National Park, with an en route stop for lunch. This town of Fort Portal rests in the shadow of “Mountains of the Moon” and is famous for the many tea plantations. From this lovely town we will continue to Kibale National Park, while passing the region of the Crater Lakes – stunning beauty will unfold from here as well. Before heading to your lodge you will explore the small lakes then continue to check in at your booked African Adventure lodge.
After check-in you will embark on a guided nature walk through the dense papyrus at Magombe Swamp which is part of Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary situated on the edge of Kibale Forest National Park. On your nature walk, you have the chance to spot up to 138 bird species including the Great Blue Turaco, a variety of butterflies and perhaps the real draw card of this swamp; its seven species of monkeys including red colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, L’Hoest, vervet, black and white colobus, blue monkey and baboons.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth N.Park
After an early breakfast you will be transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Authority park headquarters where you will receive a quick briefing before embarking on your Africa Adventure Safari with an exciting chimps trek in Kibale Forest. With an over 90% successful tracking rate, this rainforest is one of East Africa’s premier destinations to chimp tracking.
You will be escorted throughout your chimps trek by expert guides who will give you more information on the species found here including the 325 bird species, 250 tree species and over 80 species of mammals. Once you’ve found your group of chimpanzees, you will spend one hour with them, observing their humorous hand gestures and facial expressions, their ear-piercing squeals and their death defying leaps through the trees.
You will leave the rainforest and drive south following the Rwenzori Mountains ranges to reach the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will enjoy a brief en route stop at the equator line for lunch. At Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will take an evening game drive through the explosion crater-lake fields expecting to spot a variety of species such as elephants, Uganda kob, bush-buck and troops of baboon.

Day 4: Wildlife viewing game drive and boat safari in Queen Elizabeth N.Park
Depart for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains aiming to spot lions hunting in the morning. The Kasenyi plains are a prime location to track prides of lions, which hunt the game herds found here. Expect to spot elephants, buffalo, warthogs, bushbuck, waterbuck and vast herds of Uganda kobs as you be joined on this game drive by a guide from Uganda Wildlife Authority who is an expert in tracking the lions and is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the Savannah.
After lunch, you will explore Kazinga Channel on a water safari as the river flows through the heart of the park and connects Lake Edward and Lake George. On your boat cruise, expect to spot elephants, buffalo, warthogs and waterbucks as they cool off along the river banks in the heat of the day. At the end of your boat trip, you will return to the docks on the Mweya Peninsular.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will be transferred to Ishasha Plains in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park for another epic game drive. Ishasha is famous for its iconic tree-climbing lions. They climb trees to catch the cool breezes during the hottest part of the day and avoid the biting insects in the grasses below.
Accompanied by a ranger from Uganda Wildlife Authority, you will track through the open Savannah on this game circuit expecting to also spot other wildlife species including elephants, buffalo, Uganda Kob and hyenas.
After your game drive, you will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After the big Uganda Safari Holiday breakfast, you will transferred to the Uganda Wildlife Authority park headquarters where you’ll be briefed on the gorilla tracking which begins at 8:00am.
You will then be guided into the jungle to track the shy primates. It’s advisable to bring along a rain jacket, and hiking boots. The trek length varies depending on where the gorillas spent the night, ranging from 30 minutes to 7 hours but it is well worth the effort – it is the most magical experience you can see in nature.
Once you find the gorilla family, you will spend one hour with them, observing them feed, socialize and display their prowess. At the end of this long and exciting adventure, return to our lodge for a well-deserved shower, dinner and rest.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo N.Park and night game drive in Mburo
After breakfast, you will then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park driving through winding roads, farmlands and forests. Lake Mburo National Park boasts of a beautiful acacia Savannah terrain and woodlands.
You will embark on an afternoon game drive expecting to spot warthog, impala, zebras, oribi, leopard and several savannah bird species some of which include lapwings, hornbills, and cocqui francolin. This park is also home to the eland, Africa’s largest antelope species only found here and Kidepo Valley National Park.
After darkness falls, you will set out to explore this park on a nocturnal game drive. Guided a by a ranger, you will be scanning the savannah with a spotlight to search for a variety of species including the genet cat, warthog, hippos, spotted hyena and the elusive leopard. You will then return to your lodge for the evening.

Day 8: Bush breakfast, guided walking safari and transfer to Murchison Falls
Today, we start the day with a special bush breakfast in the wilderness. Dawn breaks around 6:30 am in Uganda and just on the way to the Bush Breakfast Location you can see the Predators return from the night’s hunt, highlighting the fact that this is not breakfast taken anywhere, but in the African Bush.
A Bush Breakfast on Safari is that perfect added plus for anyone on Safari. There is nothing like it and it will leave long-lasting memories.
You will embark on a walking safari accompanied by a game ranger. On this guided nature walk, you will often see Zebras, Giraffes, Eland, Topi and other antelopes, buffaloes, birds and butterflies.
Take the trail to the top of the hills and see Lake Mburo and beyond, from this vantage point you have a great view of 9 of the regional lakes found in the area. After this walk, we will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park.

Day 9: Game drive, boat safari and hike to top of the falls
After an early breakfast, set off for a morning game drive on the Northern Delta Nile. Lions, buffalos, waterbucks, Jackson’s hartebeest, Rothschild’s giraffe, oribi and baboons are some of the animals to expect. Other activities in this game drive include bird watching, and sightseeing across the open Savannah, dotted woodland and riverine vegetation along the Nile and Albert delta. You will then return to camp to rest and have lunch.
After lunch, you will embark on a three hour boat cruise on the Nile. This boat ride offers an amazing view of the falls from the bottom angle. Hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, and aquatic birds can be seen along the shores of the river. Hike up to the top of the falls and enjoy the magnificent Murchison Falls Safari view as they squeeze their way through a gorge in the rocks and tumbles 43m below flowing westwards into Lake Albert

Day 10: To Ziwa Rhino for Rhino tracking and transfer back to Kampala
We begin the day with breakfast then embark on our journey back to Entebbe, making a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, an asylum for Rhinos. You will enjoy a foot safari to see the white Rhinos, accompanied by game rangers.
You will then be transferred to Entebbe for your flight back home.
