DETAILED SAFARI ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by your driver-guide and transferred to your accommodation in Entebbe, the Botanical Beach Hotel or similar, where you'll enjoy dinner and settle in for the night. (Full Board)
Day 2: Exploring Murchison Falls National Park
Start your day with a hearty breakfast and head north to the iconic Murchison Falls National Park. Pause for lunch in Masindi and a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a chance to track endangered rhinos. Continue to Uganda's largest national park, spanning 3,840 square kilometers. Visit the top of the falls to witness the Nile River as it squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge, creating a powerful roar and stunning rainbow. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge, Fort Murchison, Pakuba Safari Lodge, or Red Chilli Rest Camp.
Day 3: The River Nile Boat Cruise and Game Drive
After breakfast, explore the park’s northern section, rich in savannah wildlife. This game drive offers excellent photography opportunities of elephants, lions, buffaloes, and more. Post-lunch, enjoy a two-hour boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, where you can see a variety of water birds and mammals, including hippos and crocodiles. Return for dinner and another night at your chosen lodge.
Day 4: Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Following breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, driving southwest via Fort Portal and the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley. Stop for lunch at the Mountains of the Moon Hotel in Fort Portal. Arrive at Mweya Peninsula in the evening, dine and stay overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, Katara Lodge, or Mazike Valley Lodge.
Day 5: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park
An early start for a morning game drive to spot nocturnal predators and early risers. The park is a haven for bird watchers and home to diverse wildlife. Return to the lodge for meals and another night's stay.
Day 6: Boat Cruise and Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge
After breakfast, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, then return for lunch before heading to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee tracking. Optional forest walk in Maramagambo Forest to explore the bat cave. Overnight at your chosen lodge.
Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Ishasha Sector
Post-breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via the Ishasha sector, known for its tree-climbing lions. Enjoy lunch en route and a cultural experience with the Batwa community in the evening. Overnight at Silverback Lodge, Bakiga Lodge, or Buhoma Community Resort.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla tracking. The trek through the lush forest offers a unique opportunity to encounter these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax for the remainder of the day.
Day 9: Return to Kampala
Enjoy breakfast before driving back to Kampala, stopping for lunch in Mbarara. Arrive in the capital in the late afternoon for a brief city tour, followed by a transfer to the airport for your departure flight or to a local hotel if you are extending your stay.
