Queen Elizabeth National Park spans the equator line monuments on either side of the road marking the exact spot where it crosses latitude 00. The park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park and renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II of England.

Queen Elizabeth National Park spans the equator line; monuments on either side of the road marking the exact spot where it crosses latitude 00. The park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park and renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II of England. The park is home to over 95 mammal species and over 600 bird species. The Katwe explosion craters mark the park’s highest point at 1,350m above sea level, while the lowest point is at 910m, at Lake Edward.

Itinerary
Day1
You will be picked up from the Airport (depending on the time of your flight), by our professional driver/guide, who
will brief you about your safari and then we will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On our way we will have stopovers
at the Ugandan equator at Kayabwe, for water experiment, pictures and shop for a souvenir. After lunch at Igongo
Cultural Centre Mbarara, we continue to the southwest and head for the Western Rift Valley. We will enter the park
with a mini game drive, in search for wildlife that includes; Waterbucks, Bushbucks, Kobs, Buffaloes, Elephants,
Jackals, Hippos, Warthog, Lions and Leopards among others. We proceed on and check in to the service of twin lakes
safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day2
The day begins early as we go for our morning game drive, heading for Kasenyi plains, towards the Kobs mating grounds,
in search for wildlife that may include the Bushbuck, Waterbuck, Elephants, Buffaloes, lions, Leopards and other
wildlife in their natural habitat.
The game drives normally take 3 -4 hrs before returning for breakfast. In the afternoon we take on a boat cruise along
the Kazinga Channel, a natural link between Lake Edward and Lake George.
The Channel accommodates abundant wildlife, hundreds of birds that are sighted fishing in the channel and hundreds of
hippos that are cooling off at the shores, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari.
Day3
After breakfast we will take a tour to Katwe salt lake, the biggest of the only 2 productive salt lakes in this park
and western Uganda as a whole.
Here salt is extracted locally by the local communities, for them to earn a living for their families. You will also
be able to know the protective gears these people need for their bodies while at work. We later proceed on to Entebbe,
with a lunch stopover in Mbarara.
We later proceed on to Entebbe, with another stopover at the Equator, for toilet break and souvenir shopping. From
there, we drive straight in Entebbe or your destination in kampala.
