3-Day Wildlife Sighting Kibale Forest NP Including Chimp Trekking

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport and Transfer to Kibale National Park. Drive Time: Approx: 6-7 hrs.

We hope your flight is scheduled for an early landing at Entebbe Airport, You will be received and welcomed to the Pearl of Africa by the assigned professional English-speaking private trip guide. Then you will transfer from Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park. This drive is incredibly scenic, passing through villages, Lush green countryside, and hills dotted with tea plantations which characterize this part of Uganda. Kibale is popular for its Primates like Chimpanzees, Colobus Monkeys, Grey cheeked mangabeys, and red-tailed monkeys. While you are on chimpanzee trekking these are usually seen swinging in the trees and others feeding on the wild fruits. You will arrive in the evening and you will do little but check in accommodation for dinner and relax to prepare for the next day.

Day 2: Kibale Chimp trekking and Bigodi swamp Excursion in the afternoon(Evening).

Awake to the symphony of birdsong and fuel up with a delicious breakfast, Head to the trekking point where you will receive some briefing on the dos and don’ts during chimp trekking. Thereafter, brace yourself for an exhilarating chimpanzee trekking experience, as you venture deep into the heart of Kibale Forest in search of our closest primate relatives. Led by expert trackers, traverse through the lush foliage, immersing yourself in the awe-inspiring surroundings. As you draw closer to the chimpanzee community, feel the anticipation building knowing that you are about to witness these charismatic creatures in their natural habitat. Once you locate the chimpanzee, you will be allowed a full hour in their presence observing their playful antics, listen to their vocalizations, and witness the intricate social dynamics that make them so fascinating. This close encounter with our primate cousins will leave you with lasting memories and a deep appreciation for the delicate balance of nature. Return to accommodation for lunch and some rest time.

Later go for Bigodi swamp walk, the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a fascinating area, located in the Magombe swamp. This area boasts of an extensive array of biodiversity, among which are several primate species like the baboon, and black & white colobus monkey. The Bigodi is also a paradise for bird watchers. Among the major bird species within the sanctuary is the Great Blue Turaco.

Day 3: Explore the Kibale crater lakes and thereafter Exit Kibale for Entebbe to catch your flight out. Drive Time: Approx: 6-7 hrs.

After breakfast at the accommodation, proceed out to explore the crater lakes, crowned with a hike to the “top of the world” as you marvel at the diverse plant life, learn about medicinal herbs, and listen to fascinating tales of the forest's rich folklore. You will enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and stunning views take a hike to Lake Nkuruba where you will encounter different species of primates and birds. Meet and interact with the local people as you walk through their villages and enjoy the panoramic views of the Kibale area. Thereafter, hit the road to Entebbe Airport for your flight out.
