Everest Base Camp Trek
Trek to the base camp of the world’s highest Mount Everest, is definitely a trip of a lifetime. The journey begins with a scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu overlooking the mighty Himalayas, to the Tenzing Hillary airstrip at Lukla. The terrain is rough and is full of the glacier and lateral moraines. Khumbu glacier is a prominent glacier in the region and the world’s highest as it stretches from 4900m to 7600m at its source.
At the Base Camp, Everest along with Nuptse and other magnificent peaks are mesmerizing to spectate. However, the best view is from Kalapathar, elevated at an altitude of around 5560 meters. An ideal viewpoint for sunrise and sunset, panoramic views of a wide range of mountain peaks along with near-distant topography will definitely make you falling love with the Himalayas.
