Description
umbwe route is the shortest and the most difficult Kilimanjaro route . The route is not popular because it does not provide enough chance for acclimatization, its success rate is pretty low and most climbers do not prefer it.
The route approaches the mountain from the south and provides camping as the only accommodation. We do not recommend this route because of its steep direct ascent; we only recommend it to experienced hikers who are confident in their ability to acclimatize well
