When thinking of migration lots of people think of the river crossing phase but there is more to it than just that, Serengeti migration involves a lot of action all throughout the year and there is a lot to see than just the thousands of animals making their way through rivers

One of the mysterious events in Serengeti that involves these ancient beasts is the famous calving season, this is when thousands of cubs are born in one duration, usually, the birthing time takes place between January and February with march and April months being used as the time to tend to the young ones and prepare them for a long journey ahead in search of much better pastures after the dry season kicks in

This mind-blowing event takes place in the southern part of Serengeti and the north western part of the Ngorongoro conservation area, it is believed the animals prefer this area for reproduction because of the nutritious soil in the area which leads to the presence of healthy grasses full of needed minerals for their young ones, the nature of the grasses also allows them to spot their enemies who tirelessly prey for their curbs

Day 1

Moshi – tarangire(Tanzania Serengeti Migration Safari)

This is the beginning of one the best safari holiday you ever hope for, get your breakfast early and meet your guide who will brief you about the events of the day, after all the formalities are handled you will get in your safari vehicle; strap in and start an exciting drive to tarangire national park.

The park is located just 240 km from Moshi and it will take about 4 hours to get there. On the way look around and gaze upon the true beaty of the Africa land, you will come across some coffee farms and see how a normal Tanzanian goes about their day. after arriving at the gate your guide will pay the dues and you will proceed with game driving to the park. tarangire is what most people may refer as the elephant’s paradise and it is much more than that, there is a lot to see and discover while here, from the ancient baobab trees scattered all over the park, lions, zebras, giraffes’ hyenas, and many others without forgetting more than 400 bird species that have been recorded so far in the park

Day 2

Journey to the glorious and picturesque territory of lake eyasi situated in the southwest of Ngorongoro crater. the lake is part of the magnificent line of the east African rift valley lakes and it stretches out for about 50km south-west with the magical plains of Serengeti spreading on its north side. There are miles upon miles of landscapes around the lake to explore, full of ancient baobab trees. Observe the early morning hunting display, gathering honey, and a traditional dance performances by the local people.

lake eyasi boasts is a home to numerous wildlife and wide range of bird species, so keep your eyes open to spot some. After the whole day of adventure, you will drive back to karatu/manyara for a night’s rest

Day 3

Manyara/ karatu – Ngorongoro (ndutu area)(Tanzania Serengeti Migration Safari)

Another morning of exploring and enjoying yourself in the magical land of Tanzania, get your healthy breakfast early and start driving towards the ndutu area, the drive will pass by the scenic land around the Ngorongoro conservation area, here you will get a chance to interact with some Maasai people.

After arrival at the area, you will marvel at the endless plains filled with the wildebeests, while others are protecting their young one’s others will be busy protecting and making sure they don’t lose their curbs to vicious predators. The whole day will be spent exploring around here and you will spend the evening in one of the campsite / lodge

Day 4

Full day ndutu area(Tanzania Serengeti Migration Safari)

Full day of game driving in the area, exploring this vast land teemed with animals. The calving season is mainly exciting as more than 8,000 wildebeests’ cubs are born every day and just as they take their first step, they become targets for the rapacity predators. Another unique and dazzling sighting in the area is the acacia woodland which is immediately surrounded by short grass plains.

After a day full of memories, you will retire to your accommodation for a tasty dinner and some good night’s rest as you prepare for another exciting day.

Day 5

Ndutu area – seronera(central Serengeti)(Tanzania Serengeti Migration Safari)

The adventure continues , after having breakfast you will proceed with Game driving while heading to the central part of Serengeti, your drive will be full of spectacular animals view all around, keep your camera close and keep capturing wholesome pictures on the way, central Serengeti is one of the most visited spots when it comes to safari and that is for a good reason the area is frequented by animals all throughout the year and has a jaw-dropping actions of interaction between predators and preys. After a long of safari the night will be spent in one of the lodges / camps in the central Serengeti

Day 6

Day 7

Today you will be making your way out of Serengeti so take in each moments that you still have on this magical land, you will drive around the central area before heading out to the crater rim where you will spend the night. On this last day in Serengeti be keen to spots animals like lions, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, and so many others.

Day 8

Ngorongoro crater – manyara/ karatu(Tanzania Serengeti Migration Safari)

Make your way into the crater early in the morning after having breakfast, the popular crater has a lot to offer and has one of the most beautiful scenery on earth, going at least 600 meter deep the crater has become a home to wide range of animals that some named it the Eden Garden of Africa, this is also the only place that the rarely seen black rhino can be spotted on just a one-day game driving session. As you keep exploring and spotting the classical African animals you will be offered lunch in of the picnic sites in the crater before having a short afternoon game drive and heading out of the crater. The day will end around the manyara or karatu area in the lodge or campsite of your choice

Day 9

Manyara/karatu – lake manyara national park – Arusha / Moshi(Tanzania Serengeti Migration Safari)

This is a perfect way to end your adventurous safari, spend time in this small yet magical park full of animals and unique biosphere, the park got so famous that it was named one of the worlds biosphere reserve in 1959, here you will get a chance to spot large number of elephants herds, the famous tree climbing lions, giraffes, zebras’ gazelles, and many others. The park is also popular for its bird presence with more than 390 bird species recorded so far, if you get a chance, you will visit the hot springs that are surrounded by the flamingos. Lake manyara national park is surely not a spot to miss on your adventure. Your day will end late afternoon and you will get back to your hotel or go for a flight in Moshi/ arusha
