ZANZIBAR FISHING TRIP

You have the chance to experience some incredible sportfishing out in the deep waters around Unguja, also known as Zanzibar Island. Head offshore in search of serious, tough-fighting fish with an experienced skipper who will always go the extra mile to get you on the fish. He will meet you in Kiwengwa and make sure you have a memorable time fishing in Tanzania.

Spend the day fishing aboard a 19’ Fibre airboat which was custom built for fishing the deep waters off Tanzania’s Island Coast. She features masses of fishing space all around and a covered top to give plenty of shade from the tropical heat. It can take up to 4 guests, runs on a 45 HP Yamaha engine, and is equipped with an ice-box, spearfishing gear, and snorkeling gear.

The fishing around Unguja has to be seen to be believed. Skipper Mardeeny has caught Tuna weighing almost 180 pounds here in the past, and some Marlin is simply too big to bring out of the water! You will focus mainly on trolling for Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and Wahoo, but can also jig for Tuna and other species lurking below.

If you wish, the fish you catch is yours to keep and kids are welcome to join your trip. The only thing to keep in mind is that smoking is not allowed on the boat.

All trips come with quality heavy tackle from the likes of Daiwa and Shimano, as well as Squid baits and trolling lures. There’s no need to buy a fishing license, and you will be given snacks and drinks to keep you going on your trip.
