After breakfast, drive to the Umbwe Gate and begin your trek through the dense rainforest. The lush environment teems with wildlife, offering a serene hiking experience. Enjoy your first night camping at Umbwe Camp under the stars, where you can unwind and bond with fellow trekkers around a campfire.
Today’s trek from Umbwe Camp to Barranco Camp takes you through beautiful alpine meadows and impressive landscapes. Experience the famed Barranco Wall, a towering challenge for climbers. Expect diverse plant species and stunning views of the surrounding landscape as you make your ascent.
This day allows for acclimatization as you trek to Karanga Camp. Enjoy stunning views of the glaciers and rock formations, with ample time to marvel at the unique flora along the route. Settle in for the night at Karanga Camp amidst beautiful scenery, preparing for the next leg of your journey.
Trek to Barafu Camp, your base for the summit attempt. Use this important day for rest and preparation. Capture stunning views as you enjoy your last day in the wilderness before the summit challenge. A hearty dinner will precede an early night to ensure you are well-rested for the ascent.
Rise early to begin your summit attempt! Trek through the night towards Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. The strenuous challenge is rewarded by spectacular sunrise views. After celebrating your achievement at the summit, begin your descent to Mweka Camp where the atmosphere is festive to mark your accomplishment.
After a refreshing breakfast at Mweka Camp, begin your descent to Mweka Gate. The trails are filled with flora and fauna unique to Kilimanjaro. Upon reaching the gate, celebrate your successful trek with your team and receive your certificate of achievement, commemorating your remarkable journey to the Roof of Africa!
