Day 1: Moshi to Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp - (Starting your journey)

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Moshi to Lemosho Gate (2,100m / 6,890ft), where you will officially start your trek. After thorough check-in and gear preparation, you’ll embark on your first hike through verdant rainforests teeming with vibrant flora and fauna. As you navigate the winding trails, listen to the sounds of nature and soak in the beauty of your surroundings. You'll arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,780m / 9,120ft) in the evening, where you’ll set up camp and prepare for your first night under the stars.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp

On the second day, you will trek from Mti Mkubwa Camp through serene landscapes to Shira Camp (3,840m / 12,570ft). This leg of the trek rewards you with stunning panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro as you ascend, along with the opportunity to see diverse wildlife and unique plant species. The hike covers approximately 8km (5 miles), with an elevation gain that allows for excellent acclimatization. Upon reaching Shira Camp, enjoy the evening surrounded by astonishing views and share tales of your day's adventure around the campfire.

During the trek, marvel at Lava Tower (4,600m / 15,091ft), a notable highlight of the climb that presents amazing photo opportunities. Day 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

On this day, prepare to tackle the famous Barranco Wall, which will test your skills and determination as you ascend to Karanga Camp (4,000m / 13,123ft). This part of the trek is not only physically rewarding but also offers breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding peaks. Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

After arriving at Barafu Camp, take some time to rest and prepare for the early morning summit of Uhuru Peak. A hearty dinner will be served in preparation for your epic journey ahead.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Rise early and gear up for the challenging ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,341ft), the highest point in Africa. The trek starts in the dark, allowing climbers to enjoy the breathtaking sunrise over the horizon. This is a strenuous hike, but reaching the summit is a triumphant experience, filled with joy and elation. After celebrating your success and capturing the moment with photos, begin your descent to Mweka Camp (3,100m / 10,171ft), where you can reflect on your incredible journey and achievements.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

On your 7 day, enjoy a scenic descent through the lush rainforest back to Mweka Gate. As you walk, soak in the last views of the majestic mountain and the vibrant nature surrounding you. Upon reaching Mweka Gate, collect your certificates as a testament to your extraordinary achievement. Afterward, enjoy your transfer back to either Arusha or Moshi, where you can celebrate your successful trek and recount your experiences with friends and family.

Day 8: Mweka Gate to Arusha - (Departure Day)

Following a fulfilling adventure on the Lemosho Route, after breakfast at Mweka Camp, you will descend through the lush rainforest toward Mweka Gate. Take a moment to soak in the last breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro and the vibrant flora surrounding you. At Mweka Gate, you will collect your certificates of achievement, celebrating your successful ascent to Uhuru Peak!

After completing the signing-out formalities, your guide will escort you to your vehicle for a scenic drive to Arusha. This charming city serves as a bustling hub for travelers in Tanzania and offers opportunities to explore local markets, enjoy a cultural experience, or simply relax and reflect on your incredible journey. Should you have the time, consider joining an optional afternoon excursion, such as a visit to a nearby coffee plantation or cultural heritage center, to make the most of your final day in Tanzania before your departure.
