This 10 Days Migration Serengeti Safari Tour will take you to the renowned National parks in the Northern Circuit of Tanzania with a focus on the Wildebeest Migration in the Serengeti.
Lake Manyara National Park is located in Arusha and it is part of the Northern Circuits of National parks in Tanzania. The park was established in 1960 and it covers an area of 330sqkm. Lake Manyara National Park is famously known for its tree climbing lions and it is home to various mammal species like the famous tree climbing lions, klipspringer, elephants, warthogs, impalas, Buffaloes, hippos, gazelles, lions, leopards among others. The park is also home to over 400 bird species including native and migrating bird species like the pink flamingos that give color to Lake Manyara, ostriches, storks, hornbills, crowned eagles, pelicans, herons, grey crowned cranes, crested guinea fowl, secretary birds and the silvery cheeked hornbills among others.
Tarangire National Park is located in the Northern part of Tanzania and lies within the Northern Circuit which consists of several other National Parks. The park covers an approximate area of 2,850sqkm and was garzetted as a National park in 1970. Tarangire National Park boosts of about 58 mammal species including large herds of elephants, giraffes, tree climbing pythons, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, gazelles, cheetahs, honey badgers, fringe eared oryx kudus, hartebeests, African wild dogs, zebras, tree climbing lions, cape buffaloes, wildebeests, waterbucks, dik-dik, impala among others. The park also has a strong concentration of bird species amounting to 550 species, among these include the greater and lesser Kudus as well as oryx, northern pied babbler, vulturine guineafowl, Rufous-tailed weaver, yellow-collard sun bird, white-bellied go away bird, hornbills, bee-eaters, ashy starling, mouse birds, tiny-pygmy falcon, white pelicans, superb sterlings, white-headed babbler, hammerkops among other bird species.
Serengeti National Park is located in the Northern region of Tanzania and it was established in 1952. The park covers an area of 14763sqkm making it home to over 70 mammal species like dik-dik, Oryx, greater Kudu, Hyenas, Hippos, bushbuck, Jackals, giraffes, Janet cats, Baboons, Giraffes, elands, spring hare, porcupine, warthog, Hyraxes, vervet monkeys, Colobus monkeys, patas monkeys, and mongooses and also Africa’s Big 5 mammals which are lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and Rhinos. Serengeti National park also boosts of over 500 bird species including Grey-Breasted spur fowl, Fischer’s lovebird, Rufous-tailed weaver, Usambiro barbet, Grey-crested helmet-shrike, Kori Bustard, Red-capped robin-chat, Secretary bird, Verreaux’s eagle, Yellow-throated sand grouse among others. Serengeti National Park is well known for its annual Wildebeest Migration of over 1,500,000 and 250,000 Zebras which occur between the months of July and August.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area is located in the Northern part of Tanzania on the Eastern Great Rift Valley Arm which is managed by Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority. The Conservation area was officially established in 1959 and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 and it is part of the Serengeti Ecosystem. Ngorongoro’s main attraction is the Ngorongoro Crater which is the World’s largest intact and unfilled Volcanic Caldera with over 25,000 mammals including wildebeests, hippos, warthogs, hyenas, zebras, elands, gazelles, and the Big 5 mammal species which are lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos as well as buffaloes and over 100 bird species co-existing with the Semi-nomadic Maasai people.

Day 1: Arrival and Pick up – Transfer to your Hotel in Arusha
The 10 days Migration Serengeti Safari Tour will start with a pick up by our Professional Driver guide from Paradise Adventure Vacations who will meet and greet you, he will brief you about your Safari and thereafter transfer you as you enjoy the captivating beauty of the Landscape in Tanzania to your Hotel in Arusha for a relaxed overnight as you await the next day’s activities.
Day 2: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park – Full day Exploration
After your lovely breakfast, you will embark on a drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara, a relatively small but diverse park 120km west of Arusha, is so named for the shallow salt lake that occupies a good 70% of the park’s lands. Flooding and drying seasonally, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On our exploration of the park, we shall see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants and with some luck, we shall also see lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes, not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. After our full day in the park, we will drive to our lodgings where we will have relaxation and also enjoy a sumptuous meal with our comfortable quarters awaiting us.
Day 3: Transfer to Tarangire National Park – Evening Game Drive
Day 3 of your Safari will start with a delicious breakfast and thereafter you will start your drive to Tarangire National Park where you will arrive with an enroute game drive to your lodge. You will check in for a mouth-watering lunch and have relaxation. Later, you will head out for an evening game drive until sunset which will give you sights of different mammals including elephants, giraffes, cape buffaloes, wildebeests, waterbucks, dik-dik, impala, fringe eared oryx kudus, hartebeests, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, gazelles among others. You will then return back to your accommodation for your dinner as well as an overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Serengeti National Park – Evening Game Drive
After your lovely morning breakfast on day 4 of your 10 days Migration Serengeti Safari Tour, you will embark on about 4 hours drive to Serengeti National reserve. You will continue towards the fertile Ngorongoro highlands where wheat and corn are grown by the Iraqw people. Along the way, you will also pass through the mist-shrouded rain forests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to see baboons or even leopards and elephants in the dense undergrowth. Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation for a finger-licking lunch and have relaxation. Later in the late afternoon, you will descend into the central Seronera area which has a great concentration for wildlife and enjoy your game drive as you search for mammal species.
Day 5: Serengeti National Park – Full day Wildebeest Migration Experience
After your delicious breakfast, you will embark on an encounter with Serengeti’s Wildebeests at the Seronera area while they cross the Mara River to Maasai Mara National Reserve. While here, you will enjoy watching millions of Wildebeests and Zebras migrating from Maasai Mara to Serengeti National Park while crossing the Mara River amidst the big Nile Crocodiles waiting to grab food, here you will witness survival for the fittest as lions are on the other hand waiting at the river banks for the same. This experience is an unforgettable one since you will watch these creatures searching for greener pastures. You will enjoy a packed lunch in the reserve while maximizing your time with the migrating Herds. You will continue with your exploration of Serengeti National Park and search for more wildlife like lions, giraffes, Janet cats, Baboons, Giraffes, elands, spring hare, porcupine, warthog, Hyraxes, buffaloes, elephants and Rhinos among others. Later in the evening, you will enjoy the sunset as you drive back to your accommodation for your dinner and overnight while searching for leopards.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Full day Game drive
Your day 6 of the 10 days Migration Serengeti Safari Tour will start with a delicious morning breakfast and thereafter you will proceed for a full day game drive in the land of endless plains. You will drive through the classic savannah dotted with acacia and filled with plenty of wildlife including the Big 5 mammals which are lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos. Later you will return for your dinner and an overnight.
Day 7: Serengeti National Park – Full day Game Drive
Day 7 of the 10 days Migration Serengeti Safari Tour will begin with a delicious morning breakfast and thereafter head back for another full day of encountering Africa’s Big Game. This day of your Safari will give you a great opportunity to search for more of the Wildlife that you failed to spot on your previous game drive.
Day 8: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge with Afternoon Game drive
You will start your day 8 with a lovely morning breakfast with your picnic lunch boxes via the Olduvai Gorge where it is believed the cradle of mankind began. While here, you will encounter and learn about the fossils, stone tools and the skeletons of many extinct animals excavated in the gorge. Thereafter transfer with an afternoon game drive to Ngorongoro Crater which is not only called Africa’s Eden but also the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World, a visit to the crater is a main draw card for tourists coming to Tanzania and a definite world-class attraction. Ngorongoro Crater is surrounded by a ring of extinct volcanoes and the floor is dotted with watering holes, which shelters 25,000 animals. You will enjoy your picnic lunch as you view the wildlife. Within the crater rim, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhinos then return to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive – Drive to Arusha for Overnight
You will wake up early morning on your day 9 of the Safari and have breakfast. You will thereafter descend into the Crater floor which is about 260 sqkm with a depth of over 2000 feet. This 5 hours game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of wildlife action which has not to be missed therefore keep your Cameras ready. The African elephant, Black rhino, buffalos, Hippos, Cheetahs, Hyenas and Lions are found in plenty. You will later begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater and then transfer to Arusha for your delicious lunch and relaxation, you will have your overnight stay in Arusha.
Day 10: Transfer to Arusha Airport for your Departure
Having had a relaxed night on the final day of your Safari, you will have a delicious breakfast and then transfer to Arusha where you will catch your departure flight back home. You can as well buy some souvenirs on your way to help remind you about your time in Tanzania.
