When Nelson Mandela went underground, he did not skip the country. But he lived in Liliesleaf farm pretending to be a farm worker. This is where Mandela and his friends changed the strategy to fight that oppressive government by forming an army called, Umkhonto We Sizwe, meaning, "The Spear of the Nation."This was then the reason for Mandela to be arrested and sent to prison and spent 27 years.
Constitutional Hill was once regarded as a notorious jail divided into 2 sections, for the blacks and whites. Now this is the home to the Constitutional court of the country.
Soweto is a township. Townships are those areas which where allocated to the black people during those times of segregation. This has been the heart of the struggle against apartheid and home to most of the activists. This is a multi cultural area.
