Safari to the private Big 5 Game Reserve “Schotia”

One of the absolute highlights of the game reserves!

Schotia is wonderful and is perfect for a day trip due to its smaller size of 2400 Hectares, it allows you to view a larger area of the reserve in a shorter space of time, perfectly suited to cruise guests. The informative, professional rangers look forward to introducing you to the incredible nature in an open Safari Vehicle that seats a maximum of 9 guests. Experience the rich wildlife, vegetation and incredible scenery of the Eastern Cape.

The day starts with a collection in Port followed by a short 45-minute transfer to the Reserve.

Once there, you will be introduced to your guide for the day and board your Safari vehicle for an incredible experience.

The reserve is fantastic, and the sightings are always brilliant with a 95% success average.

After a 2 hour Start to the Safari, you will stop for a short bathroom break and tea/coffee before continuing for a further 2 hours into the heart of the reserve spotting as many of the Big 5 and other species up close.

4 hours of Safari in this incredible reserve you should have been able to spot most of the animals who call this beautiful reserve home.

Lion, Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard, Hippo, Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Kudu, Impala, Blesbok, Sable, Waterbuck, Springbok and many more species of mammals and birds.

Once you have finished the Safari leg of the excursion, you will break for a fantastic 2-course home cooked meal prepared over open coals in the bush lapa accompanied with a couple of drinks.

After the meal, you will take a slow drive back to the reception area giving you a further chance to spot more animals along the way.

Once at reception, you will board your mini-shuttle headed for your return to Port.

The evening “Tooth and Claw” would include dinner, start in port at 14h00 and finish in port at 21h30.
