Sete Cidades, Lagoa do Fogo - volcanic lakes. Guided van tour

Overview

The tour begins in Ponta Delgada towards Sete Cidades. It includes a few stops at different viewpoints and the chance of visiting the most beautiful and unknown areas of the west and central parts of our island. After a stop at Vista do Rei viewpoint, we will descent the road that leads us into the interior of this valley to visit Sete Cidades parish. After admiring the Church of St. Nicholas, we will continue on our way towards Lagoa, through the South Coast of the Island. Then, the tour continues towards Lagoa do Fogo, with stop at Caldeira Velha with some time for a thermal bath.

· The Azorean Pineapple Plantation

The Azorean Pineapple Plantation is a delightful spot. Here, visitors embark on a historic journey through the centennial culture of centennial culture that originates the best pineapple in the world: the Azorean Pineapple!

· Viewpoint of Pico do Carvao

Amazing view to the north and south coast.

One of the most beautiful viewpoints in Sao Miguel island. You can see both the north and south coasts. A must visit to experience the magnificent natural beauty of the Island.

· Aqueduct - Muro das Nove Janelas

Near the Serra Devassa is the Muro das Nove Janelas, an aqueduct that is considered a heritage site (18th century).

· Lake - Lagoa do Canario

Lagoa do Canário is synonymous with beauty, tranquility and peace. Silence and beauty around.

· Viewpoint of Boca do Inferno

Spectacular view over the caldera. One of the most well-known panoramic views of the Sete Cidades. It is by many the most stunning and emblematic place on the whole island of São Miguel. The Boca do Inferno viewpoint offers a fantastic view of the craters and lagoons surrounding Sete Cidades. A must visit.

· Viewpoint of Vista do Rei

The wonderful viewpoint of Vista do Rei, which gives you a magnificent view over the large and amazing lake of the Sete Cidades. Vista do Rei (King’s View) viewpoint named after King D. Carlos and Queen D. Amélia to celebrate their visit to the island in 1901. This is the classic Azores view. Really picturesque scene!

· Viewpoint of Cerrado das Freiras

Another great view point for the Sete Cidades. Gorgeous views!

· Viewpoint of Lagoa de Santiago

In this viewpoint you will be shivered by the depth of the lake of Santiago.

Green overload- amazing to see.

· Sete Cidades, Crurch Sao Nicolau

Crurch Sao Nicolau. It is a small temple of neo-Gothic style. Built in the century. XIX, has an interesting lane of cryptomeria, on both sides until its entry. Peaceful inviting atmosphere. A nice stop in this quiet village.

· Viewpoint of Ponta do Escalvado

Built on a cliff, the Miradouro do Escalvado is one of the ideal places to contemplate the sea. It offers a fantastic view of two landmarks in the natural landscape of the municipality of Ponta Delgada: Ponta da Ferraria and the Mosteiros Islands.

· “Hot ocean” - Termas da Ferraria

The natural hot water pools. Amazing view.

· Viewpoint of Barrosa, Miradouro Lagoa do Fogo

Enjoy ample panoramic views of the island's outline from one of the São Miguel's highest peaks. The second highest point of the island of São Miguel, Pico da Barrosa, where you can see both sides of the island of São Miguel and the Lagoa do Fogo, the most untouched and well preserved of the large lakes of São Miguel Island.

Gorgeous views! A lake in a volcanic crater with views of both the north and south of the island. Breathe taking view.

· Caldeira Velha

One of the most emblematic places in São Miguel. Stop for a visit, learning more about fauna and flora on the interpretation center or go for a relaxing time, diving on the hot thermal pools merged with nature (not included).

Beautiful jungle-like environment, 3 pools with warm water + 1 with cooler water and a picturesque waterfall. Enjoy you time!

· Salto do Cabrito waterfall

Discover one of the highest and most beautiful waterfalls of São Miguel island, surrounded by wild lush vegetation. Amazing natural beauty with a great waterfall. You can take a walk and take a very fresh water bath.
