Description
Embark on an enriching journey to Machu Picchu, starting from Cusco. Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel at 4:00 AM. We'll then whisk you away to the Ollantaytambo train station, where we'll board a train bound for Machu Picchu Town, the gateway to Machu Picchu.
Upon arrival in Machu Picchu Town, you'll have some time to enjoy breakfast (not included) and stock up on water and snacks before we hop on a bus to ascend to the awe-inspiring citadel of Machu Picchu. Once there, our expert guide will lead you on a fascinating 3-hour tour, unraveling the mysteries and history behind each corner of this ancient Incan marvel.
After the guided tour, you'll have ample free time to wander and capture photos of Machu Picchu's iconic vistas, allowing for personal exploration and reflection amidst the breathtaking surroundings. Then, we'll return to Machu Picchu Town in time to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our vehicle will be waiting to transport you back to Cusco or drop you off at your hotel.
Please note: As our visit occurs during the second shift, mountain climbing, including Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu, is not permitted.
To enter Machu Picchu, you'll require a ticket known as Llaqta Machu Picchu. If you haven't purchased one in advance, don't worry; you can easily acquire it on the Ministry of Culture website.
Once inside the citadel, you'll have the option to explore one of four designated circuits:
- Circuit 1: Delve into both the upper and lower sections, along with platforms and terraces, over a 3-hour duration.
- Circuit 2: Extend your exploration to include Inti Punku and Puente del Inca, for a total of 4 hours.
- Circuit 3: Focus your visit on the lower section, featuring the agricultural area, Temple of the Sun, House of the Inka, and the Archaeological Reserve, lasting 1.5 hours.
- Circuit 4: Dive deeper into the lower section, encompassing the agricultural area, Temple of the Sun, House of the Inka, Sacred Rock, and water bodies, spanning 2.5 hours.
We recommend selecting Circuit 1 or 2 for a comprehensive tour, ensuring you experience the highlights and capture timeless photographs of Machu Picchu's wonders.
