Start your day at 8am by driving towards Wakan Village, a village located 2,000 meters above sea level. You will enjoy a beautiful drive of two hours, passing through amazing landscape such as mountains. To reach the village, you will drive on a narrow and steep mountains road, wich is quite exciting. Once the top reached, have a stop to enjoy an Omani coffee with some dates and have a snack if you want to. Then, join the start point of the uphill to start an adventurous hike. You will climb more than 700 steps going up to the moutains acrossed the terraced garden. At each point, the view is different : you will notice gardens cultivating pomegrenates, apricots, figs, grapes and many more.
Once the exploration of Wakan village is done, drive towards Nakhal Fort, one of the most magnificent and popular in Oman. Stroll around this 350 years old fortress and visit the different rooms which has been decorated in the original old style. Reach the top of the fortress to enjoy the outstanding view of mountains and palmtree plantation.
Continue your exploration with Nakhal’s hot spring, also known as Ain Al Thawarah. Beyond the dates plantations that surround Nakhal Fort, this hot spring emerges from the wadi walls and is directed into a Falaj. Local people love to have a swim in it, as they think that this water can cure some forms of diseases. If you like to, have a quick deep before going back to Muscat.
