Difficulty: Strenuous (Requires good physical fitness and acclimatization)

Max Elevation: 5,545 meters (Kala Patthar)

Best Season: March to May (spring), and September to November (autumn)

Accommodation: Teahouses and lodges

Permits Required: Sagarmatha National Park Permit and TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card.

The Three Passes

Kongma La Pass (5,535 m): This is the highest pass of the trek and offers panoramic views of Makalu, Lhotse, and Everest.

Cho La Pass (5,420 m): A challenging pass that often involves walking on snow and glaciers, leading to the Gokyo Valley.

Renjo La Pass (5,340 m): The easiest of the three passes, providing breathtaking views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and the Gokyo Lakes.
