Description

Makalu Base Camp Trek -

The Makalu Base Camp Trek in Nepal's Makalu region is a thrilling and challenging trek that leads to the base of the world's fifth-highest mountain, Mt. Makalu. Rising to 8,485m (27,838ft) near the Nepal-Tibet border, this area lies southeast of Mt. Everest. The trek route was first discovered by English mountaineer Eric Shipton, and the high pass trekkers cross, known as Shipton La Pass, is named in his honor for this accomplishment.
