What's included
Itinerary
Your journey on the Kanchenjunga Trek begins in Kathmandu, where you will start with a drive and a flight to Bhadrapur, followed by a transfer to Birtamode.
From this point, the real adventure begins as you embark on a thrilling trekking holiday, making daily progress along the trail to reach both the Kanchenjunga South Base Camp and the Kanchenjunga North Base Camp. This trek offers an ideal vantage point to witness the myriad reasons why Nepal is a magnet for trekkers, mountaineers, and adventurers alike. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Makalu, Chamlang, and the iconic Mount Everest, with the stunning Kanchenjunga towering above at 8,586 meters (28,169 feet). Nestled between Nepal and India, three of its five peaks lie directly on the border, and its name translates to "The Five Treasures of Snow" in Tibetan.
Interestingly, Kanchenjunga was once believed to be the highest mountain in the world until modern measurements placed it in third position. It was first successfully summited in 1955, and out of respect for a promise made to Tibetan royalty, the summit remains untouched.
Throughout your journey, you will be well-supported and cared for by our experienced guides from Nepal Mountain Trekkers and knowledgeable Sherpas.
While trekking to the Kanchenjunga Base Camps is possible year-round, the ideal seasons to embark on this adventure are spring and autumn.
