Ghale Gaun trek offers you a perfect blend of culture and nature, traversing through sub-tropical jungles of the country with views of snow-capped mountains and learning about the ancient culture and traditions of the locals.
Ghale Gaun trek is one of the most unique trekking destinations in Nepal. The village is nestled on a hilltop providing picturesque views of lush woodlands of sub-tropical jungles and mountain ranges. A pioneer to promote local tourism, this trek portrays the Ghale community and their way of life. The trek starts from Kathmandu towards Khudi with a drive of about 6 to 7 hours. From Khudi you will be traversing through the lush hills of central Nepal, a part of the lesser Himalayan range towards Ghale Gau. At Ghale Gau experience the authentic lifestyle of the Ghale community, witness cultural programs, and join various cultural programmers. Atten to old cultural dances like the Jhyaure, Serka, Dohori, Ghantu, Ghyabring, Krishna Charitra, and Jhakri. Another famous attraction of the region is the practice of honey hunting. This ancient practice is a way of their life and culture, learn about this ancient way of the hunt and later soak in the views of Himalayan sunset.
From Ghale Gau next head towards Bhujung, a settlement perched on a hilltop. Next towards Pasagaon, Nagidhar, and towards the lake city of Pokhara. At Pokhara visit the various attractions around. Head towards Phewa lake and witness the views of the Himalayas from the banks of the lake or go for a boat ride, and visit ancient temples, caves, and waterfalls of the region.

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu transfer to hotel preparation for trekking and overnight in Kathmandu
Once you land at the International airport in Kathmandu. A representative from Overland Trek Nepal will assist you with your accommodation. Once you check in rest for a while and later head out for a stroll around Thamel, a touristic hub of Kathmandu. In the afternoon meet with your guide and join in for a special welcome dinner program.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Khudi (790m)
After breakfast head towards Khudi, a village located at Gandaki Zone in northcentral Nepal. The drive takes around 6 to 7 hours following the Zig-zag roads of the Prithvi Highway. Along the way, you will be following the rapids of the Trishuli river crossing various settlements dotted along the hills and highway. Once you reach Khudi head towards your accommodation. Later head out to explore the region.
Day 03: Trek Khudi to Ghale Gaun (2029m)
Today you will be heading towards Ghale Gaun. A renowned destination in the country. The trek takes you traversing across lush hills covered with sub-tropical jungles and miles of undergrowth.
Upon reaching Ghale Gaun you will be welcomed with flower garlands and colors. After the welcome ceremony head towards your accommodation and rest. Later explore the area and witness the sunset over the Himalayas. After witnessing the sunset head out for a cultural program and learn about the culture and lifestyle of the people.
Day 04: Trek Ghale Gaun to Bhujung (1625m)
Wake up before dawn and witness the grand sunrise over the mountains and sea of clouds down below. After soaking in the morning views of the sunrise have your breakfast. Next head towards the trail, the trail is mostly downhill and takes to past sections of dense woodlands and various settlements. Upon reaching Bhujung head towards your accommodation and later explore the region.
Day 05: Trek Bhujung to Pasagaon (1652m)
After breakfast, you will be heading towards Paragon. An isolated village, rarely visited by international tourists. Here start friendly conversations with the locals and learn about the culture and lifestyle of the people. In the evening attend a cultural program.
Day 06: Trek Pasagaon to Nagidhar (1310m)
Today you will be heading to Nagidhar. The trek is easy and in most of the sections, you will be traversing on a downhill track. Crossing lush woodlands and dense undergrowth you will reach the settlement of Nagidhar. Once you reach Nagidhar explore the region and relax.
Day 07: Nagidhar to Pokhara (820m)
After breakfast head towards Pokhara. The drive takes around 6 to 7 hours, following the rapids of the Marsyangdi River. Once you reach the city of lakes heads towards your accommodation. After a brief rest head out on a short tour of the city. In the evening stroll by the banks of Phewa lake and experience the nightlife of Pokhara.
Day 08: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1336m)
After breakfast heads towards Sarangkot and witnesses the grand Himalayan sunrise. The sunrise is mesmerizing with views of snowcapped mountains changing their color according to the rays of the sun. After witnessing sunrise head towards Kathmandu, the drive takes around 6 to 7 hours. Upon reaching Kathmandu head to your accommodation and rest. Later join in for a special dinner program to mark the end of your trek.
Day 09: Departure to the international airport
After breakfast head towards the international airport. A representative from Overland Trek Nepal will drop you at the airport before your flight.
