Highlights
Description
The Annapurna Circuit Trek takes you around the stunning Annapurna massif in a counterclockwise direction, along classic trails that offer breathtaking views of lush hills, deep valleys, roaring rivers, serene monasteries, colorful chortens, vibrant mani walls, and swaying suspension bridges. Throughout the journey, you are constantly surrounded by the majestic Himalayan vistas, making this trek one of the best ways to fully experience the beauty of Annapurna and its neighboring peaks.
Before the year 2000, the Annapurna Circuit was an entirely natural, off-the-beaten-path adventure. Back then, trekkers explored the region on foot, and the trail was regarded as one of the best trekking routes in the world. However, after 2008, the construction of roads along the classic route reduced its appeal. The trek lost some of its charm as vehicles began to access parts of the trail, making it less remote. Fortunately, the New Annapurna Trekking Trail (NATT) was established by explorers, offering trekkers an alternative route that avoided most of the newly built roadways. This gave adventurers the chance to once again enjoy the classic beauty of the Annapurna Circuit, and the trail is now known as the Natural Annapurna Trekking Trail (NATT), as it preserves the region's authentic trekking experience.
