Annapurna Base Camp Trek 14 days

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill starts from Nayapul. And, the trail takes you through beautiful landscapes, terraced fields, rhododendron forests, and traditional Gurung villages. The highlight of the trek is reaching the Base Camp of Annapurna, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli.

Poon Hill is another major attraction of this trek. It is a popular viewpoint that offers breathtaking sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to hotel Preparation for trekking and overnight in Kathmandu. (1440m)

Upon landing at Kathmandu airport, a representative from Overland trek Nepal will welcome you and assist you with your accommodation. After a brief rest head out to explore the city. In the evening join in for a dinner program and later attend a brief orientation regarding the trip.

Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus, Overnight in Pokhara (822m)

After breakfast head on a long drive towards Pokhara. Following the winding roads of the Prithvi Highway. Upon reaching Pokhara head towards your accommodation later head out to take a stroll around the banks of Phewa lake.

Day 3: Pokhara to Nayapul (1070m) by private transport approx. 1:30hrs drive and trek to Ulleri (2010m)

After breakfast head towards Nayapul, the short drive takes around one and half hours, taking you past rows of endless hills, several settlements, and views of snowcapped mountains. Upon reaching Nayapul you will begin your trek. Traversing across lush woodlands head towards Ulleri. A settlement located above the Bhurundi Khola. The trek today takes you on a series of well-maintained stairs gaining elevation. Upon reaching Ulleri head towards your tea house and rest. Later head out to catch your first Himalayan sunset.

Day 4: Trek Ulleri to Ghorepani (2874m)

Today you will be heading towards Ghorepani. An ancient water stop for traders passing with their caravan along this route. The trek today takes you across lush sections of sub-tropical woodlands covered by waterfalls, and views of the mountain giants. Once you reach Ulleri head towards your accommodation and later explore the region.

Day 5: Trek Ghorepani to Poon-hill (3210m) to Tadapani (2630m)

Wake up early and head towards the famous vantage point of Poon hill. This vantage point is at an elevation of 3210 meters, overlooking the Annapurna Massif range and Dhaulagiri mountain range. After an uphill trek, you will reach the summit, from the summit witness mesmerizing views of mountain giants: Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Himchuli, Annapurna III, Dhampus peak, Dhaulagiri II and endless other mountain peaks and lush deep wilderness.

After witnessing, the sunrise head to Ghorepani Hotel have your breakfast, and after a brief rest start your trek towards Tadapani. Traversing across rhododendron forest covered with ferns, orchids, and miles of undergrowth. At Tadapani relax with the views of the mountain.

Day 6: Trek Tadapani to Sinuwa (2660m)

After breakfast heads towards Sinuwa, following a descending route and crossing the river. After you cross the river, the trail is on an ascending path. Following the trail, you will reach the settlement of Sinuwa. Once you reach Sinuwa head towards your tea house later explore the area and start a friendly conversation with the locals and other travelers.

Day 7: Trek Sinuwa to Deurali (3230m)

Today’s trail is filled with wonders of nature. Witness endless layers on lush hills and raging river networks with views of snowcapped mountains. The Machhapuchhre along the trail appears with a different perspective, hiding from the woods and sometimes displaying its grand views. Traversing along the trail you will reach Deurali.

Day 8: Trek Deurali to A.B.C (4130m)

Start early and head towards Deurali, the trail today takes you high above the tree line and towards the wide valley. As you cross Deurali the landscape widens, leaving the riverside track you will be heading on an ascending route. After a long ascend you will reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp, from the base camp witness grand views of the mountains.

After lunch head towards Annapurna Base Camp. This section of the trail is filled with wonders of nature. Witness a 360-degree panorama of mountains and lush alpine high lands. Following gentle streams head towards the base camp. Upon reaching base camp witness the views of mountains, glaciers, and icefalls. After checking in head out to witness the majestic Himalayan sunset and later in the evening head out for stargazing.

Day 9: Trek Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310m)

Wake up early and witness the Himalayan sunrise. The views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre change their color according to the sun. After witnessing the sunrise and exploring the base camp retrace your steps back to Bamboo. Along the way pass various settlements and deep wilderness. Upon reaching Bamboo head towards your tea house and rest.

Day 10: Trek Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1780m) Hot Spring.

Retrace your steps back following the river course of Modi Khola, traversing across the lush jungles, and passing various settlements. Following the series of stairs, you will reach Chomrong, from where take the trail towards Jhinu Danda. The trail on this section is on downhill tracks. Once you reach Jhinu Danda head towards your accommodation and leave your heavy backpacks. From Jhinu Danda head towards Jhinu hot water spring located at the banks of Modi Khola. Soak in the healing hot waters of the spring and relax your aching muscles.

Day 11: Trek Jhinu Danda to Ghandruk (1940m)

Today head towards Ghandruk, the trek is rather short, and you will be traversing across lush woodlands of central Nepal. Once you reach Ghandruk, explore the region visit the museum, and start a friendly conversation with the locals. Later celebrate your last night in the mountains.

Day 12: Trek Ghandruk to Nayapul (1070m) after Nayapul by private transport to Pokhara and overnight in Pokhara.

After having breakfast with the views of the mountains. Head towards your transportation and head towards Pokhara. Upon reaching Pokhara and checking in at the hotel. Head out to explore the region and visit various attractions around. Later in the evening stroll on the banks of the Phewa lake and visit various pubs and restaurants in the region.

Day 13: Pokhara to Kathmandu (1440m) by tourist bus.

Head towards Kathmandu, the long drive takes you past various settlements and agriculture belts along the central woodlands of the country. Upon arrival at Kathmandu rest. In the evening attend a special dinner program to mark the end of your adventure with your team.

Day 14: Departure to the international airport

A representative from Overland Trek Nepal will drop you at the airport before your flight. Bid you farewell to Nepal and the friends you made.
