Magic Morocco

Magic Morocco is an amazing adventure through some of the highlights of Morocco. It includes the spectacular gorges of Todra and Dades and the kasbah of Ameridil. On this journey you will visit the most amazing place on the planet, the Sahara desert, spending time in a luxury desert camp. You will journey through the Atlas Mountains, passing by Tizi N Tichka and then on to the seaside of charming Essaouira before arriving in the Red City of Marrakech.

23/3/24 Marrakech - Hotel Gomassine

Arrive Marrakech and take time to relax and get ready for your Moroccan Madness Adventure.

24/3/24 Marrakech to Dades via Skoura

This morning you meet your driver and head across the Atlas Mountains to Boumalne Dades. You pass by Tizi N Tichka, the highest point and stop to admire the view and see the road snaking back down behind you.

Stop in Skoura on the way for lunch, cous cous with 7 vegetables is on the menu today! After lunch a local guide will give you a tour of the famous Kasbah Ameridil, once featured on the 50 dirham note.

Continue your way to Dades, where Cadillac made their famous advert, through the Valley of Roses, Kelaa M’Gouna and the route of a thousand kasbahs, each with its own unique history.

Traverse the gorge with its awe inspiring landscapes, serpentine roads and cultural richness. Located in the High Atlas Mountains the Dades Gorge is known for its stunning views and deep canyon. You will pass by Monkey Fingers before reaching your hotel for the night. Dinner is included

25/3/24 Dades to Sahara via Todra

This morning you continue your journey to the Sahara desert. You make a stop today at the Gorge Du Todra and take a walk through the gorge and surrounding countryside. Marvel at the height of the gorge reaching over 400 metres, higher than the Empire State Building! Take lunch, which is included, before resuming your journey to the most magical place on earth, the Sahara! You pass by Erfoud and the small town of Rissani before reaching the golden dunes of the desert.

Tonight dinner is included and if its a clear night you can sit out around the campfire under the stars and watch the night sky

26/3/24 Sahara

This morning you check out of your room, packing an overnight bag for later when you take a camel ride into your luxury camp at sunset. You have free time to relax or if you prefer you can take a 4X4 excursion deep into the desert or ride quad bikes instead. (see below for details)

27/3/24 Sahara to Ait Ben Haddou

Finish breakfast and take a short drive back to the hotel to collect your bags, this morning you continue your journey to Ait Ben Haddou passing by the towns of Alnif, Tazarine, N’Kob and Agdz. Stop for lunch along the way.

In Ait Ben Haddou you will find the ancient ksar location for many famous films such as The Mummy, Gladiator and some of the scenes from Star Wars. You climb the ksar for sunset and to admire the amazing view of the area. This route traces the foothills of Jebel Saghro and crosses the Drâa and Ziz valleys before arriving in Ait Ben Haddou.

28/3/24 Ait Ben Haddou to Imlil via High Atlas

Today it’s time to head back over the Atlas Mountains and through the beautiful scenery of the Ourika Valley to the mountain village of Imlil. A step back into the past, feel free to explore the surrounding countryside, there are waterfalls and trails and plenty of nature in this area. The peak of Mount Toubkal is close by, the highest peak in the North of Africa, maybe still covered in snow at this time. Lunch is on the way to Imlil and you visit a family to experience true Moroccan hospitality. Dinner is included tonight

29/3/24 Imlil to Essaouira

You leave the serenity of the mountain village of Imlil this morning and make your way to the port town of Essaouira. With its wide sweeping bay and ancient Portuguese ramparts this small seaside town is the perfect place to chill, drink coffee and watch the world go by. On the way you go to the market to buy a picnic lunch.

30/3/24 Essaouira

Today you have time to relax and explore the town, the Scala or the fortifications, the port if you fancy a fish lunch and the Medina for shopping. All are exciting and interesting places to spend time. There are many cafes and restaurants if you need a coffee or lunch on the way. Walk along the sweeping bay and take the option of a horse ride on the beach or quad bikes if that’s more your style

Essaouira to Marrakech

After breakfast you leave the seaside town of Essaouira for your final destination Marrakech. After lunch you have a tour of Jemaa El Fna. Your local guide will take you on a journey around the Medina, the square and some of its famous sights, Bahia Palace, Secret Garden and the souk.

1/4/24 Marrakech

This morning you are free to explore the Red City further, continue in the Medina or relax the choice is yours. There are many options to fill your day, if you need help to choose just ask
