6 Days and 5 Nights from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Adventure

Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate

Leaving Marrakech at 8:00 in the morning and after picking you up wherever you are we will leave for Ouarzazate. On the way we cross the Atlas through the amazing Tizi n'Tichka pass, 2,260 meters high. Shortly after crossing the Atlas we will take a track to visit the Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui in Telouet. Passing through various Berber villages we will arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an incredible fortified city of more than 800 years old. In it have been filmed movies like Gladiator or Kingdom of Heaven. At the end of the visits we will go to Ouarzazate, where you can visit the film studios. Here we will spend the first night.

Day 2: Ouarzazate - Agdz - Draa Valley - Tazarine - Mharech Gorges (Dakar track)

After breakfast and a visit to the Kasbah Taourirt, we will leave towards Zagora crossing the Anti Atlas mountains and passing through the Tizi n Tinifift pass, at 1,600 meters of altitude. Entering the Draa Valley along a track we will see several Berber villages and kasbahs in its interior. Leaving behind the villages of Nkob, Tazarine and Alnif, we will take another track that crosses lost villages until we reach the Mharech Gorges. Many of these sections are those that are traveled during the Dakar Rally. We end the day sleeping in a hotel/lodge.

Day 3: Mharech - Ramlia Oasis - Ouzina Dunes - Merzouga

Continuing along the track of the Dakar Rally we will cross more lonely villages, wadis (dry riverbeds), oasis and the dunes of Ouzina. Following the route we will visit the famous village of Khamlia, descendants of slaves arriving from Africa, and you can enjoy their amazing folk music. From Khamlia we will take the road towards Erg Chebbi, the highest dunes in Morocco. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4: Merzouga - Erg Chebbi - Merzouga

This will be a stage where after breakfast, we will travel another of the tracks used in the "Paris-Dakar Rally" visiting desert nomads with whom we will have tea and see the oasis where some movies were filmed as "Sahara", starring Penelope Cruz. We will visit the village of "the blacks", so called because of the slave trade brought from Sudan. And after lunch we will change the traction of the 4x4 for animal traction. The camels will take us into the desert dunes to contemplate an unforgettable sunset. Tonight will be special, we will sleep in the dunes in nomad tents (Jaimas), as the Berbers do. Here we will enjoy a Berber dinner, music and a starry sky like you have never seen before. Dinner and overnight in unforgettable Jaima.

Day 5: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

After watching the amazing sunrise in the desert we will take the camels again to return to "civilization". We will stop at a hotel so you can take a shower and freshen up. Once clear, we will leave in the direction of Rissani, origin of the Alaouite dynasty and first imperial city of Morocco. We will take the road towards Erfoud, rich in black stone and marine fossils (if you want, we can stop at a fossil factory) and arrive at the Palmeral of Tafilalet. We will visit the Roda Gorges and arrive in the Dades Valley, where we will spend the fourth night.

Day 6: Dades Valley - Roses Valley - Skoura - Marrakech

Leaving behind the Dades Valley by the route of the "Thousand Kasbahs", we will pass through the amazing Roses Valley and reach the palm grove of Skoura, where the most famous kasbah in the area is located. From this point we will start our way back to Marrakech to the Desert and have lunch on the way. is the end of route with us and have a good trip.
