Itinerary of the 15 Days Africa Guided Photographic Safari Package: DAY 1 - Arrive in Nairobi - Pick up from Nairobi airport and transfer to your new home for the next two nights, Ololo Safari Lodge. - Ololo Lodge balances convenience with comfort for any photographer visiting Kenya. Ololo Safari Lodge is situated on the fringes of Nairobi National Park in a quiet, leafy suburb; this is the perfect place to unwind after a long-haul flight. - Take advantage of a private vehicle and guide to explore Nairobi National Park and other points of interest. - Overnight Ololo Safari Lodge in Stable Rooms. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 2 - Nairobi - After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up and escort you to Daphne Sheldrick’s Elephant Sanctuary. Here we admire the playful nature of these young elephants and experience a close encounter with giants of the African wilderness. - Next, we move on to the Giraffe Sanctuary to see the rare Rothschild’s Giraffe before proceeding for lunch at the Ololo Safari Lodge. - Afternoon at leisure Dinner and overnight at Ololo Safari Lodge. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 3 - Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve - After breakfast, our Safari begins as we travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier to Samburu national park arriving in time for lunch at Larsen’s Luxury Tented Camp. - Samburu is fiercely beautiful with its arid savannahs watered by the lovely Uaso Nyiro River. Samburu National Reserve is one of Kenya’s most protected areas and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe to Grevy zebras and Beisa Oryx. - Our luxurious tents are set beneath a canopy of acacia trees along the banks of the river. DAY 4 - Explore Samburu Game Reserve - Dawn breaks in golden bands of the Samburu beautiful birds as we start our day in the bush by scanning the river from our tent’s veranda with a cup of steaming coffee in hand. - Before the dew is off the grass, we’re off in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the reserves grasslands and acacia woodlands. - Dinner and overnight at Larsen’s Tented Camp. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 5 - Samburu – Ol-Pejeta Conservancy - After breakfast, we travel to Sweetwaters luxury Tented Camp in Ol Pejeta Ranch and Rhino Reserve arriving in time for lunch. - Here you will meet primates face to face during our evening game drive. Our camp overlooks one of the busiest waterholes in the area and offers elephant, giraffe and plains game. - Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Luxury Tented Camp. Meal Plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner DAY 6 - Ol Pejeta Conservancy - After breakfast, we will have morning and evening game drives. - Today we get a closer look at the conservancy during two extensive game runs. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus predator’s cheetah and black-manned lion hiding amidst acacia trees. The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable Photographic safaris experience. - Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Luxury Tented Camp. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 7- Ol Pejeta Conservancy – Nakuru National Park - After breakfast, we depart to Lake Nakuru National Park located in the Great Rift Valley arriving in time for lunch. - After lunch, an exciting game drive is planned for the afternoon. - The game in this park is plentiful and the magnificent bird watching will make a devotee out of even the most reluctant. The Park is home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lakeshores into a magnificent pink stretch. - The birdlife here is world-renowned and over 400 bird species exist here, White Pelicans, Plovers, Egrets, and Marabou Stork. It is also one of the very few places in Africa to see the white Rhino and rare Rothschild Giraffe. - Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion hill luxury Lodge. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 8 - Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara Game Reserve - After breakfast, we drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve arriving in time for lunch at the Sarova Luxury Tented Camp. - This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest’s migration and is home of the Big Five: Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo, and Rhino. - Lunch at our Lodge and relax before departing for the afternoon game run. - The Mara Game Reserve-one of the greatest wildernesses of the world. Large mammals are varied and easy to see. Residents among the Parks are Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Eland and thousands of plain games including Impala, Zebra, Topi, both Thomson’s and grants Gazelles. - Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion hill luxury Lodge. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 9 - Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve - After breakfast, the search for great predators and perhaps even cubs continues today during extensive game drives. - On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. - During our stay, we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. - Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion hill luxury Lodge. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 10 - Discover Masai Mara Game Reserve - After breakfast, a full day to discover the beauty of the Park which has a permanent supply of water thus harbor a thriving population of wild game. - All the “Big Five” and lots of gazelles, Topi, warthogs, Cheetah, Hyenas and even the rare Rhino might come out of the thicket for you. Extend your drive to the Hippo pool where they submerge at the approach of a vehicle only to surface seconds later to short and gamble their displeasure, Crocodiles sunbathe on the Riverbanks. - Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion hill luxury Lodge. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 11 - Masai Mara - Amboseli National Park - After breakfast, fly to Amboseli National Park with a scheduled flight from Masai Mara to Nairobi. - We will have lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant then continue to Amboseli. - The Park is famous for the big herds of elephants and view of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. - Afternoon game drive is planned in the park coming back to the lodge later in the evening. - Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 12 - Discover Amboseli National Park - After breakfast, two game drives are scheduled for this day. - The open flat plains are ideal places to search for pride of lions, buffaloes, cheetahs, zebras, and wildebeests. The swamps are good places to catch the elephants as they bath in the mud. There are wealth and diversity of bird species. - Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 13 - Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park - After breakfast, we depart by road to Tsavo National Park arriving in time for lunch. - The Park is a vast expansion of African savanna with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi-desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops. It’s famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal species and birdlife. - Dinner and overnight at Finch Hattons Camp. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 14 - Explore Tsavo West National Park - After breakfast, we will have morning and evening game drives in the park. - Dinner and overnight at Finch Hattons Camp. - Meal plan - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. DAY 15 - Tsavo West – Nairobi - After breakfast, we drive to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch at the Nairobi Heka hotel for our hotel day room use. - In the evening, you will be transferred to the Airport for your international flight back home. - Meal plan - Breakfast.
