Day 1: Mombasa – Email Train Station – Amboseli: (100 km – Approx. 1.5 hrs drive)

Meal plan: Lunch, Dinner

Early morning collection from your Kenya Coast beach hotel for transfer to the Mombasa Railway Station. 0800 hrs : Depart Mombasa Train Station for Emali (near Amboseli) on the Madaraka Train. You shall enjoy country views and maybe spot wildlife as you transit to Tsavo East & West national parks. 1052 hrs: Arrive at Emali Train Station where you shall be met by your safari driver/guide and proceed to Amboseli National Park.

The scenic drive is through the expansive savannah plains dotted with local homesteads and colorful Masai tribesmen and their cattle to Amboseli National Park. An afternoon game viewing drive is scheduled. Weather permitting the Mount Kilimanjaro snow-capped peaks shall be visible during the afternoon game viewing drive.

Overnight at your Amboseli Safari lodge or tented camp. What you may see at Amboseli National Park … Elephant herds, Cheetah, Bufallo, Giraffe, Zebra, Lion, Plains Game, Crocodile, Mongoose, Hyrax, Dik-dik, Lesser Kudu and Nocturnal Porcupine

Day 2: Amboseli National Park

Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch, dinner

This will be a full day of game-viewing drives. Plenty of time to soak up the wildlife and the magnificent scenery. And we’ve allowed time for relaxation as well. There will be an early morning game drive. Then breakfast will be followed by a mid-morning drive. After a comfortable lunch, we’ll set out on a later afternoon game drive. Between the wildlife viewing sessions, relax at your Amboseli lodge or camp. They will provide meals and other activities. As always, your safari vehicle and driver/ guide are at your disposal for even more game-viewing drives.

Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha (340 km – Approx. 6 hrs)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early morning game viewing drive as you exit the Amboseli National Park. Proceed to Lake Naivasha in the Rift Valley. Afternoon boat ride viewing small game, exotic birdlife, and hippos amid the serenity of this freshwater rift valley lake. This shall be followed by a guided walking safari at Crescent Island.

Overnight at Sawela Resort What you may do at Lake Naivasha ……. Boat ride, bird watching, nature walks, visit to Hell's gate.

Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Lake Nakuru (80km – approx. 1.5 hrs)

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

This morning we take a bicycle and cycle to the nearby Hell’s Gate National Park where you explore on foot this canyon as you spot small game. Later a short 1 hour drive takes us to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Birdlife abounds with flamingoes seen in their thousands together with pelicans and other bird species. The lake is host to the black and white rhino species, warthogs, lions, zebras, giraffes, and many more.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara (285 km – approx. 6-7 hrs.)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

An early bird and game viewing drive as you exit the Lake Nakuru National Park. Proceed to the Masai Mara game reserve. Arrive in Masai Mara in the mid-afternoon. Proceed on an afternoon game-viewing drive

Overnight at Loyk Mara Camp or tented camp.

Day 6: Masai Mara – Full day

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

On this day, you are likely to find the Mara when it's most active. With the sun rising at around 6:00 am, this means an early start to your day. The reward is likely to be the sight of predators who avoid the heat. Additional attractions include subtle light on the landscape and the joyous sounds of awakening birds. You will return for a hearty breakfast at the camp at 9.00 am.

At around 4.30 pm, you'll explore the Conservancy, as the cooling temperature brings out the predators. Lion-kills are often fought over by packs of hyenas, jackals, and other scavengers. Yet these life and death scenes are juxtaposed with the impossible beauties of the African sunset, as nature’s ever-changing palette streaks the sky with orange, red, and gold.

Anticipating sunset, your guide will have stopped to prepare sundowners, with a wide choice of drinks. Clasp your favorite, ease back in your chair, and watch the light shift to dark as the heat gives way to the chill.

Overnight at Loyk Mara Camp/ Tented camp

Day 7: Full day at the Masai Mara

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch.

You will have full-day game drives departing at 7.00 am with your 4×4 fully equipped vehicle to cross the Mara plains in search of game. At 1800 meters above sea level, it can get cold before the sun rises fully, so we provide blankets and hot water bottles to keep you warm.

By midday, it can become very hot indeed and sun-block lotion and hats are advised. Lunch is served under the shade of an Acacia tree or overlooking the snorting hippos that wallow in the Mara River.

As the afternoon draws to a close and the temperature cools, the shadows lengthen and the bush changes once more. Evening sightings of rhinos are not uncommon on the way back to camp. Even a bad day is a good day in the Mara since undoubtedly you will have encountered vistas, flora, and fauna new to you. Each can be revisited in the memory as you sink into your welcoming hot tub back at your tent.

Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi (265km – Approx. 6 hrs)

Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch.

Early pre-breakfast game viewing drive. Depart Masai Mara with an exit game viewing drive.

Proceed to Nairobi to arrive in the late afternoon. Safari finishes at approximately 4:30 pm.
