Itinerary
Day1: Arrival in Nairobi and transfer to Amboseli national park
Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi or at the airport and drive to Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch. Amboseli National Park provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa. Set in rolling savannah scenery, it is dwarfed by the presence of the pink-tinged, snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, which, at 5,896 meters (19,340 feet), is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Against this magnificent backdrop roam vast herds of elephants accompanied by lions, buffalos, cheetahs, giraffes, baboons, gazelle, hippos and wildebeest. There are also over 400 species of birds, all manner of reptilian, flora and fauna and some of the most soul-searing views in Africa. Enjoy excellent game viewing and the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro on an Amboseli safari. Afternoon game viewing. Dinner and overnight stay at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Lunch and dinner included.
Day2: Amboseli National Park
Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing in the park with possible clear views of the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro. This is a perfect backdrop to herds of elephants, Cape buffalo, giraffes and the many species of plains game that are found here. Lions are the easiest to spot of the big cats. Spotted hyenas are plentiful, as are jackals, warthogs, olive baboons and vervet monkeys. Climb the Observation Hill which allows an overall view of the whole park especially the swamps which are a centre of activity for elephants, hippos, buffaloes and abundant water birds. All meals and your overnight stay are at your safari lodge in Amboseli.
Day3: Amboseli and Transfer to Lake Naiivasha
Exit Amboseli and depart for Lake Naivasha. Have lunch en route. Spend the afternoon on a boat safari at Lake Naivasha, the highest lake in the Rift Valley. You will be able to see hundreds of large hippopotami and birds hovering above the lake. Giraffes and Zebras grazing along the banks of the lake are a common sighting.
All meals and your overnight stay are at your Lake Naivasha hotel.
Day4: Lak Naivasha to Lake Nakuru national park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at your hotel for check-in. Relax at leisure enjoying the hotel facilities. Following lunch, enter the park and embark on a game-viewing drive. Established as Kenya's first rhino sanctuary, Lake Nakuru National Park now hosts one of the largest black rhino concentrations in the country while substantial numbers of white rhinos have also been introduced. Other indigenous mammals seen in the park include the spotted hyena, lion (restocked), leopard, hippopotamus (in the north-eastern corner), rock hyrax, bat-eared fox, wildcat, golden cat, Bohor reedbuck, Defassa waterbuck (in high grasses bordering the shore) and Colobus monkey, Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhinos. Return back to your hotel as the sun sets for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day5: Lake Nakuru national park to Masai Mara national reserve
This morning, depart for Masai Mara, Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. Arrive and embark on a game-viewing drive en route to your safari lodge for lunch. Relax at leisure this afternoon before venturing to the reserve for another game-viewing drive.
Return to your safari lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
Day6: A Day in Masai mara national reserve
Taking a packed picnic lunch box from the lodge with you, explore Masai Mara on a full-day game viewing drive. Masai Mara is regarded as one of the premier wildlife sanctuaries in Africa due to its abundant wildlife. A visit to the Mara almost guarantees visitors to see lions, elephants, cheetahs, leopards, Cape buffalo, and rhinos, as well as giraffes, hippos, hyenas, Nile crocodiles, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, antelopes, and more. The yearly wildebeest migration (July to September) coming through the park is one of the world’s most amazing wildlife spectacles. Return in the late afternoon to enjoy the hotel facilities including an outdoor swimming pool. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the hotel.
Day7: Masai Mara to Nairobi
Today we'll bid farewell to the Masai Mara as we set out on a journey back to Nairobi. On arrival in Kenya's bustling capital city this afternoon, our safari guide will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or to your city hotel.
