Itinerary of the Safari to Tsavo East & Taita Saltlick from Mombasa:
Day 1: Mombasa to Tsavo East
We leave our hotel early in the morning and drive on the Mombasa Nairobi highway to enter Tsavo East at Sala or Bachuma Gate with an en-route game drive to your Voi safari lodge for lunch. After lunch a game drive in an area of Tsavo East and then dinner, campfire and overnight.
Day 2: Tsavo East to Taita Hills
We are up early for a morning game drive in the cool air before returning for breakfast. After breakfast explore another area in Tsavo returning for Lunch. Buffalo, zebra, giraffe, gazelle, and other plains game can be seen as well as Tsavo elephants. Predators can also be seen such as lions and jackal. Plenty of bird varieties. After lunch, we drive out of Tsavo East and follow a road that is part tarmac part murram to the Taita Hills. Dinner and overnight at the Salt Lick Lodge inside the beautiful private sanctuary.
Day 3: Taita Hills – Mombasa
We are up early for breakfast and leave for a game drive inside the Taita Hills private sanctuary where the game is easily found. The surrounding hills make an interesting backdrop. Return to the Taita Hills Lodge for lunch. After lunch, we return via the Taita and Mombasa roads to our beach hotel arriving in the late afternoon.
