Hiking to discover the rural landscape around Tropea
Panoramic, varied, suitable for everyone but at the same time adventurous, a surprising tour among the many faces of our land, all different and all fascinating.
The route starts from the Zambrone railway station
The start, uphill, about 1.5 km is immediately panoramic: incredible how a few tens of meters of height change the point of view of our coast so much. You can see the bay of Zambrone, but also the Marinella di Zambrone promontory, the Parghelia stack, which we call La Pizzuta, and Tropea, Stromboli, the omnipresent volcano of our sunsets, and the other Aeolian Islands nearby.
Almost immediately you enter the woods, in the shade, and follow a beautiful stretch with some more challenging steps, among panoramic views and dense vegetation. You arrive in Zambrone where you can admire the "Calvary Chapel" and its valuable sculptures, a symbol of the spiritual tradition of Calabria. Right in front of an olive tree so large that 4 people are not enough to hug it all. We will visit the small town with its square, and its open-air museum and then stop to taste some typical local products with a good glass of red wine produced in the adjacent hills.
