Guided accessible boat trip on Lough Ree, Roscommon, Ireland is a guided and wheelchair accessible boat trip of north Lough Ree - a scenic lake steeped in history in Roscommon, Ireland's Hidden Heartlands. Discover the history, folklore and biodiversity of Lough Ree and it's myriad of islands, bays and inlets, on one of our 90-minute daily boat trips for groups of up to 10 people (including 3 wheelchair users). As you take in the lake's breathtaking waterscape, our experienced and knowledgeable guides will give your group an insight into the lives of the previous island residents of Lough Ree; their fishing, farming, transportation, schooling and the part they played in Irish history. You will get to explore the folklore and heritage of other historic and monastic settlements such as St Diarmaid's Monastery at Inchcleraun and hear the stories of the life of Queen Maeve of Connaught. Watch out for the majestic wildlife for some fantastic photo opportunities!

Itinerary
Meet up:
Arrive at the Lough Ree Access For All reception centre in Ballyleague, Roscommon, where you can avail of refreshments and meet your guide and skipper.
Safety brief and donning of life jackets:
Your skipper will assist you and your group to don the necessary life jackets and brief you on the health and safety aspects of your boat trip.
Embarking the boat:
We will then walk 70 metres from reception to the embarkation jetty, where you will be guided to a comfortable seat of your choice on our accessible boat. Please note that wheelchair using passengers will embark the boat first.
Demonstrations:
Your skipper will remind you of the health and safety features of the trip and ensure all passengers are comfortable before we set off.
Guided tour of the lake:
Sit back and relax as you listen to our professional guides tell you the stories of Lough Ree.
Disembark boat and go back to reception centre for more refreshments (optional):
When you disembark the boat, our skipper will assist you to take off your life jacket. If you wish, you can relax with more refreshments on our quayside veranda back at the Lough Ree Access For All reception centre.
